JDM front end. Why u really want it.

Over the years of being a Honda lover, the jdm front ends have always appealed to me, 90-93 Integras, 94-01 Integras, Element, CRX's, ef and ef civics, accords, etc. With the Fit, I'm just not seeing it. To me, I like the USDM fe. I'm not really diggin any of the front bumpers in Japan. Yes, there are some cool lips but that isn't enough for me. So, why do u want the JDM fe?
Nope. To much black plastic.

Nadda. To boring.

i would have to agree with you on that only for the ge chassi. i like the jdm front end for the gd3.

M4psycho 01-15-2009 03:50 PM

Personally the only JDM front end conversion that I ever really *REALLY* liked, and would spend money on, are the integras which changed the USDM round lights to JDM "square" lights. The difference is night and day, and it just looks hot. All the other ones that I've seen are a little generic and just don't seem worth the money. That's just me though =p.

I like the extended look of the 09 USDM fit sport and it actually complements it unlike other/previous USDM models. I don't know about you guys, but I like the USDM Mugen kits and there's no need to change the bumpers. I can't wait when its released this Spring, and for the meantime I'll work on suspension and wheels! :D

2 words why the US front is not as good looking.... OWEN WILSON

SRLNCLT 01-15-2009 04:06 PM

I agree with OEMfit. Mugen FTW. Too bad it's gonna be way expensive. (Mugen needs to lower thata lil bit or at least bigger/wider rims/tires.)

AnlDyxp_GD3 01-15-2009 04:07 PM

Thats the thing about Honda. You gota PAY to be JDM. With the other JDM cars with other japanese auto makers the only difference is a slight change in the bumper, badging, head/taillight. Except for the DC5. I think thats the only one thats JDM as is. LOL

LOL! That was a good one...

Although it's a cliche... but the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I think if we had the JDM front end to start off with and the people across the Pacific had the USDM front end... you would see people over here shelling out cash for the conversions just the same. If INGS or J's Racing manufactured the USDM front end... you would hear people saying "Aw man... that looks good... I want that."

At least Honda gave us the same damn engine. I'm surprised they didn't screw us like they usually do and give us a motor from one of their lawnmowers.

Having said all that... I wish our cars came with the JDM front end. :D

I'm guessing it has to do with complying with different safety standards and marketing role?

SRLNCLT 01-15-2009 04:17 PM

^That's exactly it.

SarahVTEC 01-15-2009 04:22 PM

I agree. I like the USDM GE front end better than its JDM counterpart. However, it needs to be shorter. The overhang kills it. Who needs a 5 mph bumper anyway?

strmslvrfit 01-15-2009 04:25 PM

i agree with SRLNCLT, i love the way the USDM bumber looks compared to any of the JDM bumpers.

BakedCookies 01-15-2009 04:45 PM

ditto here, for once, USDM FTW

Tork 01-15-2009 06:04 PM

At first I liked the JDM front sooo much better, basically because it is trim and fit, like the rest of the car. But the usdm front has grown on me to the point where I think I like it the best. Seems more aerodynamic and rounded.
Plus probably an extra margin of safety, more crush zone and certainly faster air bag firing.

90crxfreak 01-15-2009 06:51 PM

WOW... i really really like that mugen kit for the usdm's... i have been looking around for something to make my car different and i found the one.... its simple yet defines the aspect of the car.

hanzo 01-15-2009 07:17 PM

I agree with you.

02dsm 01-15-2009 11:42 PM

so the JDM fe is shorter than the USDM's ?

niko3257 01-16-2009 12:03 AM

USDM for me all the way.:D

JDM_DOHC_SiR 01-16-2009 12:06 AM

JDM... or USDM... they both look good....can't decide on if I'll go through with it on my car yet..... but I have all of the parts to do the swap... time will tell..
