who's at the lowest percentage oil ?

cruising by with 60%... i should have changed the oil twice by now... going on the way i drive sometimes.

around 5k miles.

maybe some of the GD guys may chime in when their 1st oil change was according to oil meter.

solbrothers Feb 8, 2009 05:10 PM

change it when the light comes on.

spreadhead Feb 8, 2009 06:25 PM

I change mine at 15% (when light comes on). Made it to 10% once.

SCBarren Feb 8, 2009 07:48 PM

Same happened to me. Didn't change the oil till 10k + miles.

Ridiculous right?

But I waited for the maintenance minder like I was told...

JPGC Feb 8, 2009 07:51 PM

Yeah, I just crossed 4k miles and my percentage is still 70%. The oil doesn't look bad right now so I am gonna keep going to at least 20 - 30% before the oil change.

spreadhead Feb 8, 2009 08:48 PM

My MM dictated changes come about 7K miles. I do alot of highway driving.

concorde Feb 8, 2009 09:06 PM

Interesting you say this.

When I got my oil changed, the worker there said that I was pretty low on oil. I told him that I just followed my gadget thing... clearly not always the best idea?

I admit, I drove like 10k miles in 2 months (road trip etc) - but the thing should know better!

Reminds me of the FE gauge..

solbrothers Feb 8, 2009 09:59 PM

change the oil when the light comes on, that doesnt mean dont check/fill if needed between oil changes

agreed. but noooooooooo, you should NOT change the oil due to special-top-secret-oil-break-in-additive-that-will-surely-****-up-your-new-car blah blah blah blah.

my motto is: if it's black, change the shit.

HONDAMATIC Feb 8, 2009 10:04 PM

the people that make it to negative miles should get shot for abuse

mole177 Feb 15, 2009 07:39 PM

JDMchris.com Feb 15, 2009 07:40 PM

doh!!. ... .

dman Feb 15, 2009 08:34 PM

60% at 4,7xx miles. I'm debating to change it at 5k miles or wait until it hits 15%.

Satchel Feb 16, 2009 11:05 AM

I'm changing mine at 5K...it certainly won't hurt anything and the dealer can use the business.

Kittengolf Feb 16, 2009 01:19 PM

I just hit 90% yesterday, because I finally rolled over 1000 miles. I want to change the oil but don't want to mess up the break in. (as if my ridiculous driving probably hasnt already shaved 2 years off the life of my engine.)
