MPGomatic.com's Fit Sport Review

Hey FitFreaks -

Just wanted to drop in, say hello, and let you know that I've posted our MPGomatic.com 2009 Fit Sport Review (with video, of course). Our brilliant blue review car was a hoot to drive and I was able to turn in some solid MPG numbers, averaging in the mid-thirties combined. The little blue beauty did quite well when light-footing it. Inertia is your friend ... :)

Enjoy!
Dan

One quip: The CVT transmission is not available in North America. It is only available overseas. Here, we have the choice between a 5-speed Automatic, and a 5-speed Automatic with SportShift Paddles.

Thanks, San-LC! Just made the edit.

What about the 5 speed manual?

Nice review, I enjoyed it a lot especially the revving part.

Thanks, Luv4jdm! Shooting 0-60 MPH acceleration is always one of my favorite segments. I did this one a bit differently, with the camera pinned to the wheel, rather than with a static mount. It's a trick to find the right angle sometimes ...

Nice write up and vid, mpgomatic.

Where in Jersey did you shoot? (what exit?)

Thanks for reporting the real-world mileage that humbles the EPA estimates. That's the mileage I consistently get in urban commuting and highway cruising.

+1 rep

Nice vids and nice review...

Thanks for the kind words, CrystalFiveMT!

We're about half an hour west of the Turnpike.

Car-after-car, we've seen that the EPA #s aren't consistent. Occasionally, they're spot on. Sometimes ... as in the case of the Fit, they're way off. We've yet to test drive a car that hasn't hit the "official" estimates.

That's what I especially appreciated from your review; other reviews simply report the combined EPA of 30 as what they recorded, which is very misleading, as you're aware of. So, thanks!:)

Sounds like you're in South Jersey. I used to live there. Great area.

Hey yeah, rollin' up the miles ... that's what we do. :)

We're in central Jersey, just north of the Mason-Dixon line that separates the Giants fans from the Eagles fans.
