Verbatim USB drive "Unsupported" (fixed)
Learn by experience, I suppose (and by expenditure).
I stopped by Office Max today and bought an 8GB Verbatim pen drive on sale for $23, minus a $10 coupon I had. I loaded a couple gig of MP3s, and the stereo displayed the dreaded "Unsupported", equivalent to Mr. Gates' BSD. I tried removing the executable they have for setting up a secure partition, to no avail. |

I guess it's back to Sandisk or Toshiba pen drives for me! you might have to change the format it is using. not to familiar with it though. do a search. a few people had this problem and i think they changed the format of the usb and it worked. |
try a reformat fat16 or fat32, not sure if that would work, but what I would try.

I think the problem may be with the MP3 file rather than the USB drive. Check owners manual for compatible files (p.137/8). My Ativa 2 GB, bought on sale at Office Depot works fine, but I had to convert files downloaded from itunes to play on Fit audio system. Manual also notes that "devices with security lockout features etc." will not work.

Thanks for the ideas.
It is FAT32, same as two other brands of USB drives which work fine, using my existing MP3 files and file/folder structure. edit; I renamed the volume from ten characters to eight, did a quick format (FAT32 again) and it works now. |
