Got the keys cut by Faster Auto Keys.com and the Honda easykeymarker worked to program the Immobilelizer and remotes. The instructions online suck but its not hard, to figure out.
For those of you that still need an extra key this was my solution, after searching here a not finding a clear answer. I bought my daughter a 2012 that only had one key. Went on www.fasterautokeys.com you send them a picture of your key they cut it and send you a replacement for $20. That doesn’t include the electronics for the remote , had to buy that off of eBay $10 and then buy the Honda easy key maker $50 so that’s a total of $80. My local auto n stealersjip wanted $110 just for the key and to cut it, and then $140 to program to the car. I checked the local locksmiths they all ran between $125 and $200 total . The easy key maker doesn’t come with instructions and the instructions online suck but it’s not hard to basically put the key in the ignition plug in the programmer and turned ignition key on and off Then hold the unlock button on each remote, then check to see if everything works .

Did you know that Nissan Note outsold Honda Fit last year 2017?! Anyone know why? I mean Honda Fit 2017 looks better than the Note, and is more versatile, Good marketing i guess??
I finally installed my progress rear sway bar on my ge8. It had been sitting in my room for a few months collecting dust. I have to say that the install was super easy and you DO NOT need to take off the wheels or springs. The only bolt that is hard to get in is the middle one and all you have to do is move the rubber that's in the way with a screwdriver. I drove it around town a bit and can say I do feel a pretty big difference in how it turns Into corners. It feels so much more planted. I would absolutely recommend this mod.
Well, it's a bit of an exaggeration, maybe. Apparently, the bolt for the fill port decided to chew out the threads on the sc.
I'm wondering if the bolt was a hair too small, and I just never realized. Or did I manage to actually put enough force to over-tighten it. It probably didn't help that I was re-using the crush washer I put in.
I guess, some combination of the above. *sigh*
At least, its the fill port, so I put the bolt in-place temporarily so that I can drive to a nearby ACE hardware. Hopefully, find a larger bolt that is the same diameter as a spark plug so I can use the thread chaser or at worst, the re-thread w/insert kit since I only used one of the four it came with. Oh, I checked the bolt that did the damage in the insert and the bolt is just small enough to freely spin inside the insert.
So, my first attempt will be to enlarge it to the size of a spark plug... failing that, fully enlarge it for the insert.
Edit: After a bit of shopping I got the bolt and a thread chaser to use as a hole enlarger... the only problem was, the chaser doesn't gradually widen as it wasn't designed to enlarge a hole to 14x1.25, but to only "clean" it out. This meant that initially, it wouldn't start cutting in... and when it finally did, it cut at an off angle. The bolt head and washer don't sit flush anymore. Luckily, this time the washer was a plastic one that deformed just barely enough to "seal" it.
Had two sets of wheels in it today and washed all the salt off. Original paint still shining, even after 503k miles.
Good to see the Jescar Power Lock + and Collinite 845 combo still doing well even though it's only been two months lol.
Also checked the oil level (life is currently showing 70% on the MM) and put on new zipties where the coolant overflow reservoir is at. One of them broke recently.
Replaced pcv valve on 2012 Fit woth 92k, valve was getting sticky,
Tools needed, 10mm socket to pull harness bolts, long needle nose piliers to pull clampand hose , 17mm socket for valve and a ratchet . This only took less tham 15 minutes,
Today, I treated all the black trim pieces and ordered a few things to add to soon! I'd take photos, but it was dark out
Next week will be red tint for the taillights, yellow tint for the fog lights, broadway rearview mirror( the rearview in my jeep seemed so much bigger. I feel like I cant see anything in the stock one) and my phone mount.
Long time no visit here super busy at work! But here are what i did to my fit so far, nothing fancy, just normal ride...
Safety and Privacy purposes. Tires were dried and rotting, and since heavy tint isnt allowed here i just bought a curtain so i can close it when i park and sleep inside my car... and you know... lol
My Fit has now become the hubby's car, and it only took him a week of driving it before he ordered an aftermarket exhaust, haha. Now we just have to wait for a break in the weather to install it.
Had a shop drill out the broken screw from my sprintex manifold for the map sensor. The only problem is they had a hard time getting it drilled out as sprintex uses grade 12.9 m6 screws for it. I don't really blame them but now the holes don't mach for the map sensor. Would my best bet be to block off the hole and use one of the back ports for an external map?
