Tire Rotation Schedule

Hey Guys,

Does the fit tell you when to rotate your tires? I've never had a car that required tire rotation before till now.

i do them at 5k or 10k.
all depends how my tires looks.
typically it's every 10k:wavey:

I usually do it (or git-r-dun) every other oil change.

I'm probably going to rotate mine every oil change. So if you never rotated your tires on your old car, were the tires directional and the wheel sizes different from front to back?

I have a set of winter tires and when I change from one set to another, I rotate them. It works out to every ~5000 kms.

I usually rotate mine every other oil change. I have summer and winter tires so they each get rotated once a year, however I usually don't rotate the winter tires cause it's too cold and I wanna get back inside after changing my oil. lol

I plan on doing mine every oil change

what size socket do i need for the fit? You guys recommend rotating the pattern described in manual?

Virtual 05-09-2009 09:00 PM

The socket size is 19mm and the tightening torque is 80 ft/lbs.

I get my tires rotated and balanced every 5k miles. I pay $50 for lifetime rotation and balance at Tires Plus (Hibdon Tires) so figure I'll get my money's worth. Plus it helps to extend the life of the tires so that they all are worn out around the same time.

I go by the tire manufacture rotating schedule. Which is I think for Dunlops is every 6K miles. Also forgot to mention ask whomever rotated ur tire to put the date and all that stuff on the little pamphlet.

kenchan 05-10-2009 05:49 PM

i rotate every 7k miles or so... but werdly my tires are wearing pretty evenly
front and back side to side.

i recently swapped wheels after driving about 7k miles on the 912's.
after the swap i couldn't tell which tires were where front and back.
they were all within the same wear when gauged using lincoln's head. :D
