damn door columns

ok so i just got done recently changing the speakers in my GE8. while putting all the panels back and everything i had the worst time with getting the columns where the seat belts come out. if you dont know what i'm talking about its the plastic black things that are right next to the seat. well i get them in but when my emergency lock on the seat belt engages the panel or column poops out and its a b**ch to get them back in and even then they wont stay in. Ive highly considered gorilla glue and sealing in there for good after im done with all the wiring for my sound system. any ideas or comments???

did you install speakers somewhere other than the door??

I didn't have to take that area out...

he probably removed it for running the wires.

Yeah. I had a pro complete my install, and just today noticed that in my rear seat area by the door panel (where the seat belt comes up) the panels don't quite sit flush/tight together anymore.

Not sure about where the OP's issue is, but I went and snapped a picture of mine. I haven't really messed with it yet, only noticed today as I had the seats folded flat (problem area circled in red below).

The cables to the right of this area are my power and signal wires from the front of the car (wrapped in electrical tape) which run underneath that flap and onto my sub/amp combo in the hatch. The more I poke around and look at the way these wires were run (by the car audio shop owner himself) the more I am slightly displeased, especially for the price I paid. Just little things like this area obviously were not done 100% right. Oh well, not a huge deal..

nothing a little black electrical tape can fix.
