Who's waiting for the 2010 Fit?

Since I won't have all the money I would like to have aside for my Fit until October, I decided to wait and see what is going to happen with the 2010 Fit.

I know there won't be a lot of changes, but I am hoping for:

1. Updated Nav system with XM and Bluetooth.
2. VSA across all models, or at least all Sport models. This way if they don't update the Nav I can go with a standard Sport and put my own built in Nav in.
3. Maybe some other minor tweaks. Nothing major.

Is anyone else waiting for the 2010 models? To buy or just to see what they bring before grabbing an 09?

I would buy an 09 today if my 95 Corolla was a clunker. But alas, my mileage is deemed too high for the program.

Sounds more like your money situation did the deciding for you J/K

If I was in limbo I'd definitely wait and see what Honda does. When you are set financially come October you should have some choices to contend with on top of the Fit for the 2010 model year though the Fit is hard to beat in it's current trim. I would like to see a fourth option availble on top of the current three that we get.

Perhaps something with a liitle more "oomph" and a factory leather package? A real "sport" tuned suspension with a slightly lower stance? Hard to gauge what people will buy in America.

The only thing I would add to mine at this point is navigation...I dig my Fit and am glad I bought it. I kinda envy you but have no regrets with my purchase. It will be something I hang onto for quite some time...

Happy hunting when the time comes...

Well I can buy now, I suppose I put too much emphasis on that. It is more so a matter of it being so close to the release of the 2010 and since I am buying new, I may as well wait. I really just want to see what comes and by extension that also allows me to have more money in the pot.

I am not seeing many other prospects for 2010 other than the Volkswagon Golf (formerly known as the Rabbit.) The Versa looks like it might get a Nav option, but it is quite ugly right now. So unless they really do something with the styling I will pass.

I drove a Soul, it was nice but at the end of the day I don't think I am ready to buy a Kia. Maybe in the future, but not now. Plus, no nav option, and the curvature of the center section suggests it may be difficult to add a Pioneer nav unit.

Anyhow, I am mainly waiting since it is the end of the road for '09. If the right changes are there, I will be picking up a 2010 when they hit the lots (with what I want of course.)

I'm waiting but mostly because I need my bonus to come in so I can have a nice down payment. It'll probably be in September before I get that--so I'm *attempting* not to look too hard until I have the cash in hand to put down.

I'll be happy if they come out with some tweaks for 2010 but if not, I'll still be happy with my new fit...no matter what the year.

That's how I felt, and then I read up on how it was such a change to the 09s odds are 10 wont be TOO much different. But wait it out, weigh the options. I wish i had the time too. I needed a car pronto (college kid, was NOT borrowing the 98 cavalier for any much longer than i had to).

LOL...yea, I know what you're saying there ^^^.

I'm thinking...hey, if in September, the 2010's come out and there isn't much of a change...maybe I can pick up a left over 09 for a cheaper price...if I can find one that is what I want (or at least close to it)--if not...2010 here I come!

according to Motor Trend the 2010 Fit is unchanged from 2009, so really no need to wait.

According to another boarder, the 2010 Fit brochures are in, and there are absolutely no changes to the Fit. You might want to call your dealer and see if they have the new brochures to confirm.

I have to wait regardless...been saving but only have half of the downpayment...need my bonus to supplement. I'll just have to see what's up when I get the money.

The only change is to the brochure, it is a fold out poster style. The vehicle remains unchanged for 2010.

Just picked one of the brochures yet. I must say I am not totally convinced there are no changes. Namely because this "brochure" is lacking the typical full feature breakdown list. But it does seem that there is nothing. Pity. Honda lost a sale.

considering the demand for some common features, vsa anyone, they would make a huge deal about it and put in the new brochures

You are right. I am not pleased with the lack of changes. As I said, the main two XM and Bluetooth were big ones for me. When Nissan is dropping these as options in the Versa, there is not reason it should not be in the Nav model.

Why? Cash For Clunkers

I don't want to wait to buy the Fit. I have to. Because of this darn Cash for Clunkers. Hey, I wear a blue tie myself, I am happy with "reasonable" solutions to help boost the economy. The thing helps those desperate to unload their junkers, helps the auto industry dig themselves out of their mess, and gets better cars on the road. But I am just a schmo needing a second car with no trade in. I walked into the dealer yesterday knowing there would be no negotiating room but come on, could anyone care less about me?

I walk in, have to swerve around people, beg to test drive a car under the Costco Program, get a salesman who barely wants to help me, then test drive the car. I ask to get the price, he spouts out a number off his head. I ask for the Costco price sheet, says he is too busy. Ask how he calculated the price, says he just knows. Ask about colors, says only 2 options, take it or leave it. Ask if the price is negotiable without Costco price, says he will just sell the car by tomorrow. Tells me honestly he doesn't need my sale.

My wife bought a Honda Accord in February from them and they practically gave her their shirt, shoes, belt, you name it. Costco price not good enough, we will make it better. Sweetened the deal, threw in the kitchen sink. Yesterday I wasn't wanted. Wouldn't have enjoyed driving the car off the lot even if I bought it. Sucks.

Couldn't they just stop for a second, look at a potential additional sale, sat me down, given me the actual Costco price sheet, told me they couldn't better the price but they wanted to make me feel good about the purchase.

Told me to just come back in October, buy the color I want, not be hassled, and just pay the additional MSRP mark up with the 2010 model.

I guess I have no choice. I contacted two additional dealers about their 2009 prices, too busy to respond.

I had the same experience, except I bought the car. salesman didn't even shake my hand. They seemed pissed at me. so I called Honda America and filed a complaint. They were supposed to go over my warranty, and introduce me to my new car. They didn't. My particular dealership had Poor customer service. It really burns me when I see their commercials on TV claiming to be the best in the area and the whole "We'll make it worth your while" line KILLS ME!
