What's up everybody. Here's my intro thread. I just got back from the Honda Dealer with my 2009 Fit Base. I wanted a sport/manual, but there weren't any to be found in the surrounding area. I went with the base MT because I needed to get my Obama hundid stacks before they're all gone. I thank the liberals for paying for part of my car.

I traded in my 1994 Lexus es300. It had 157k miles, non functional airbags, no ABS, front end damage from a collision, transmission problems, a leaking valve seal, etc. Walked out after tax, title, and tags for just about 12k after $4500 C4C rebate.

The Clunker:

Now to school you honda lovers on some real JDM sexiness, I'll show you how to roll on some 19" SSR GT2's:

Here's a real engine that provides about the same power as my Fit and the next two posters fit's combined. Some German goodness for ya tonight boys.

And finally, here's how you have some fun on a race track in a real hatchback.

Well there you have it. I have 2 blue hatchbacks. One is for fun, one is for daily driving. I'm not going to lie, the Fit is pretty fun to tool around in. And before you all get pissy, I'm just playin with you all in the comments above. I love my M Coupe, but I'm just messing around. Get used to it.

Maybe down the road I'll put a suspension on the fit, lower it a bit, maybe do something a little more respectable than 5.5" wheels, but I don't have too many plans for her. My money pit is the 2-door hatch. I joined up here to get some insight into DIY repair, common problems, good vendors, etc. You won't have to worry about noob threads from this guy.

Ain't no shame in a base for your DD. Base Fit's FTW.

Nice M Coupe. I used to own a '98 2.8 Z3 with Dinan this and Hamann that. I miss it, but not the maintenance costs.

Nice! Just think how much gas you are saving with the fit....

It's not, but SSR wheels are.

Congrads on your new Fit - looks pretty nice beside the BMW - which looks like a pretty sweet ride itself.

Cat :x

Those wheels look like SSR GT2's which are sold in the US so I'm not sure how they would be JDM. If you picked up some Honda Fit wheels only available in the Japanese Domestic Market, that would be JDM. But those SSR's look like they are USDM wheels.

Congrats on the Fit. It's a fun little tossable car.

Man, I gotta get my honda lingo down. people use JDM on the bmw forums to just mean Japanese parts. Shows what we know. You are correct, they are GT2's and USDM. I stand corrected.

Gbaby2089 Aug 23, 2009 09:12 PM

well the stuff i consider jdm is stuff that is either popular in japan or is japan only...so i guess they could be considered jdm but personally i wouldn't call them that

Nice choice on the Fit. Those SSR wheels look HUGE on your BMW, too big IMO, but they do look nice.

z3 owners will refer to 19's as Wagon Wheels...you aren't alone!

Then again, there's no such thing as 'too big'

Sweet M-Coupe!! Just did the clunker deal on a base MT Fit myself. It's amazing how much fun it is buzzing around in the Fit isn't it?

Did the same photo shoot today too with my other hot hatch. It's no bimmer but it's scary enough.:p

Kept the 15s on the Fit but got some Honda Accessory rims. I like the skinny tires for the light wieght and low rolling resistance. They handle a lot better with 40psi in them.

Nice Hatches! I'll check into the tire pressure. I've been thinking about some larger diameter wider wheels and tires, but I keep reverting back to the fact that this car is a daily driver and meant for fuel efficiency. I agree you should keep things as light as possible if these are your goals.

I ordered a keyless entry key today and would like to add an armrest.

I was going to put 16s on with 205/60 tires but I noticed all the tires in that size were over 20lbs. The base Fit tires only weigh 16 lbs ea. 4lbs added to each tire will def take some zip out of the Fit so I stayed with the stockers. Plus I didn't have to spend the bucks on tires right now.

You need some 18 inch SSRs on yours! :D

Comp C's!

I wonder if I can afford some Volk TE-37's in Fit sizes. Way to much money for the M Coupe.

Chad T Aug 23, 2009 11:19 PM

I had some of those. That would be a nice compliment to the GT2s on the M.
