sport headlight for base....
any1 one want to trade?
i hate the chrome in the headlights, i would just paint them but its too much work to remove the lens off the headlight, and to glue them back up..... i kno id mess it up:rotfl: |
so whats the diff between the sport and the base haedlights?and why do you want to trade? And do you have the base or the sport, its not to clear to me
|
The 09 Sport headlights are chrome as well. The previous generations had the color matched lights.
|
The GE8 Sport headlights are chrome.
The GE8 Base headlights are black. He has a Sport, doesn't like the chrome and would like to trade headlights with someone who has a base. There... I cleared it up for you. |

Just to clarify some more, the housings are not black. They are more towards the grey side.
|
^^ Yea, I thought I'd keep it simple.

ya i kno but i just used black as a quick example hahhahaha but i have a strom silver so i think the grey would actually look really good:cool: |
Yah I definately like the color matched earlier versions better than my base lights but I dunno if chrome would be better...
Id swap with yah for the hell of it but itd be tough drivin at night while I waited the week for headlights to show up from cali...lol |
Ahhh, you guys are all just envious and wish you had a Base. ;)
Next thing that will happen is you'll be trying to straight-across swap my Base Steelies for your Honda alloys. And after that? Fake stick-on hatch keyholes. Yeah. You know you want it. :rotfl: |

The color matched housings were ugly on all but the silver and black GDs imo |

just paint them. it's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be.
I've never done it before and i did it. it was cake:p |
Painting is the best way to go. Just read through the DIY on here. It sounds like an overwhelming task, but really if you have any sort of patience and a little bit of time you can do it don't worry. I was the same way.
took everything off late one friday evening. Woke up early Saturday morning baked the lights pulled them apart (very easy, just follow the DIY steps), unscrewed the chrome piece to be painted, primed it, painted it, and let it dry overnight. Woke up early Sunday morning screwed the chrome back in, stuck the lights back together, baked them, took them out and let them cool for a minute, sealed them all the way around with seal all (because I didn't trust just using the original over again to do the job) and put them back on the car. Maybe 4 hours total from start to finish. I was done before lunch on Sunday and now my lights look awesome (much like others who have done this on the forum). Overall it was the best cosmetic mod in my opinion. It makes you fit look mean and so much more put together. |

You put the headlights in the oven for about 5 minutes to soften the glue up and just pry it apart with a flathead. Incredibly simple.
