Snow tires again - Do I need front wheel caps, lug nuts and hubcaps?

I will be taking my Sport in to get the snows put on. My tire dealer stored them since last month when I bought them and had them mounted on Honda steelies.

Just wondering as can't recall what is behind the front Sport wheel. Their is an axle cap?

Do you use the Sport lug nuts or replace them?

What do you use for hub caps if any?

Will be interesting to see what the ride is like and what it looks like with black steels.

Personally, I think the car will look cool with black steel wheels-very "urban assault vehicle.";)

I'll post my pic again:

As you can see, I used a center cap from by old Civic. The chrome lug nuts and lock are from the Civic too.

Those parts should be available quite cheaply at a scrapyard.

Do you know what the stock lugnut size is on an '09 fit?

Just getting outfitted with tools to swap my winter wheels and tires in.

Thanks

17mm hex, M12x1.5 I reckon. That's what I had on my GD; I don't think your GE's lugnuts will be any different. HTH :)

What is the size of your steel wheels?

Hi,

What is the size of your steel wheels in the picture below? I need center caps for my Fit's winter wheels. They are 14-inch black rims. Yours look great with those caps.

I painted my 15" and found some old caps I had to strip paint off. They are kinda ratty but better than none.

Those are my 15" Genuine Honda Fit rims. The center bore size should be similar to your 14" rims so the center caps might fit those too. In fact the center caps you see came from my old 88 Civic which had 13" rims. Try out a local scrap yard and ask if you can check fitment before purchase.

Yea the Fit doesn't look too bad on steelies.. I like my winter wheels at least. Wouldn't mind grabbing some center caps tho.

Tomrrow I think I'm picking up a set of Integra 15" Mesh Wheels. $13 Each. going to use them for Winter Wheels. I'll need to pick up some center caps as they are coming with only 3 (1 honda, 2 acura).

I'm debating on putting some work into them to polish them up a bit. The clear-coat is rubbing off in some areas. Wondering if I should try and paint or just touch up.

oh wait... it's me... I have a 4 yr old... They'll stay the way they are likely.

If you find a source for center caps I sure could use 4 good ones. They do provide some protection to the front axle.

I recently got some steelies too through tirerack. I'm not too familiar with the old civic center caps, but I really like the simple finished look of the ones people have posted on here. I'm wondering if they'll fit on non-Honda wheels though? I did some measurements, and the center on my wheel seems to be the same as the specs I've found for some caps on ebay, but I'm still not gutsy enough to pull the trigger and buy them without knowing for sure if they'll fit. How do they go it? Do they just snap in place?

I went through same thing. I really can't help you. My Fit steelies have the center raised around the hole. My caps go over the outside of this. They have a ridge to the inside all the way round about 1/2 inch or so from the lip. It is this ridge that holds the cap on once it is driven on. I also added a couple wraps of black tape to the lip of caps as there is suppose to be a plastic of some kind on the lip I guess to prevent marking the wheel?

Best would be to try a junk yard. There may be some other caps that would work as well. Another option is the chaep plastic hubcaps. I used them the first winter - here is a pic

Markahm Honda has the same caps for sale. I didn't see how much they were though. Give them a call or your local dealers.
