Help ,BOYO VTL300C backup cam wiring instructions

I've searched and can't seem to find instructions online for wiring this cam up to the head unit. The RCA jack I figured out but it also has a red and a black wire I assume are for positive and negative. I wired the black to a bolt behind the dash I'm already using as ground for something else. I wired the red wire to the wire from the head unit that says battery but I get no display. I also have two setting in the head unit, one for positive polarity, the other for negative and another for off. I have tried each of them and still no display when I press rearview. Any ideas ?

No idea but why don't you contact the seller or maker?

I'm no expert at wiring that's why I paid a professional to do it. A local ship installed my BOYO in conjunction with my Pioneer DEH-4100. The thing is awesome!

The local shops name is Car Tunes (423) 870-8878.

Give them a call and they might be able to help you out. I've used them in at least 3 of my vehicles dating back to my high school days. In no way do they know who I am but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask. They installed it in my 2009 black fit (the installer might remember because he was quite impressed by the fit, which he had never heard of).

The red and black leads from the camera is for power and ground. The red lead should be connected to the 12VDC Reverse light. This way, when you put the car in reverse, the camera will be powered up at the same time. By the way, you need to tell us what in-dash unit you have. You may want to check if the head unit has a reverse trigger wire. Look for a wire that has a label "reverse" or "Backup Camera" "rear lamp" something like those.
