The Fit's Turning ability is so good, beware
Beware when turning that you dont turn into a pole, car, or curb. I have not done this yet, but Im sure many have since the turning radius is amazing.
Especially watch out in parking garages for the poles |
Be especially wary of punching the throttle during a low speed turn. I did that once, and nearly put the Fit through a brick wall before I could recover it. Revs build quickly in low gear.

I really had to pay attention to how hard left or right I cranked the wheel when I stepped out of my cruiser into the Fit. While the Cruiser was nice, it turned like a cargo ship, while the Fit turns like a forklift. It still shocks me how tight a turn I can make in parking lots.

After driving a GMC Safari cargo van that was overdue for ball joints and tie rod end replacement I found that it was hard to go in a perfectly straight line at highway speeds due to the responsiveness of the steering..... That made me feel pretty stupid until I got use to it but it is fine now unless I have to get into our old truck and haul something, then I feel stupid all over again.... It is OK to be humiliated every now and then if nobody is around to see you.

someone was seriously trying to pad their post count with this gem.

I was talking in reference to the difference between the sensitivity of my Fit's steering in relation to that of a van and a truck ..... I did have a difficult time adjusting to it when I first got it..... Seems like you have posted a few times on this forum your self.

lol i actually really like it! its a little too quick though... the new civics are pretty rediculous as well.. they might be even faster than ours! (or they just feel that way since it's a bigger car)
But i really think my mom's car has a really good steering ratio/feel. its an 03' 330i sport. The fit is almost there, just a little too light |

I think the fit handles like a dream. I can take turns at twice the speed compared to my 96 accord. I personally have a lot of fun driving it, but I still am careful of it like it's 2x the size it is, I'm really not tryin to hit any curbs or anything so even if I have a foot of clearance I'd rather just back up a little and pull forward.

Make no mistake, I love the way the car handles. I can do a u-turn in a two lane road just like I'm on a motorcycle. I'm afraid this car may spoil me for driving anything else.
Anything more fun to drive than this has two fewer wheels IMO.:vtec: |
I have a 70CC, 250CC, 750 CC, 1100 CC and 1800cc bike and haven't ridden any of them since I got the Fit

The Fit does extremely well, but a '97 Corolla wagon the ex has bests it. That thing is truly remarkable. The Fit does really, really well though. I can manuver just about anywhere I want.
