Can't open hood

So I was upgrading my horn and I had to move the hood release cable out of the way, and I thought I put it back in place, but when I tried to open the hood this morning the interior hood release lever pulled all the way back without tension. I tried tugging on the cable and fiddling with the latch release under the hood, but I can't open the hood. Any tips? Thanks.

Did it become un-done at the latch?

Well, I unhooked the cable from its slot during my working on my project, but at the end I thought I reattached it. Maybe it wasn't exactly secured.

Try disconnecting the lever from inside the car, then tug on the assembly as a whole. I did that with my 1965 MG Midget, and luckily, I was able to open the hood.
Good Luck,

PS-This will only work if you did not disconnect the cable from the release mechanism under the hood.

Ok thanks, I'll give that a try.

And don't forget the KISS rule. What was your last step when you removed the cable?

This is going to get expensive. I can see the grille being ripped out to get at it but then you wanted a new one.

Oh why did you remove the cable? None of the DIY threads said to do this.

Good luck.

Any progress? I'm just curious if you found a solution.

You didn't mention what year Fit you had. Does this help?
