The definite way the 2010 basic Fit's door locks work..!
After reading several threads by various owners about what the Fit's door locks will or will not do, I decided to fully test the setup on my 2010 Base AT Fit, and this is what I found:
1} With the driver's door open and the key not in the ignition, pushing down the master lock button in the driver's door will snap closed all of the car's locks. All one has to do is then close the driver's door and everything is locked up tight! 2} With the key left in any position in the ignition slot while the driver's door is open, that master lock button will not lock anything! (-A very good safety precaution, IMO!) :D 3} And finally, this setup is not affected or changed in any way if one decides to buy a Sport model button key or button fob for keyless entry usage with the Base model. (-Which I have done...) Now while this is absolutely true for my 2010 Base AT model, I have no way of knowing if other or earlier Fit models will work the same way also. But anyway, this is my final findings on the matter regarding my 2010 machine................ :popc: S. Holmes |
