Will 205/55R16's rub on a GE Sport?

I'll be buying tires soon and will most likely go with the +0 upgrade on stock alloys to 205/50R16. I'm also considering 205/55R16 if rubbing would be minimal or nonexistent. In addition to the added width of the 205's, the 55's would be ~3/4 inch taller than the 50's.

Most all of the side-effects of the 55's would be beneficial to me (slightly more ground clearance, larger diameter means slightly taller overall gearing, taller sidewall means reduced impact harshness all other things being equal, etc). The slight hits to steering response and acceleration I can handle.

So anyone know if/how bad 205/55's would rub on a GE?

Matt

If you aren't lowered, I don't think so.

why do you need 55 tires?

where are you living at man? I thought the Fit sits really high to begin with.

Just Dallas suburbia.

The front lip scrapes on my driveway every entry/exit unless I cut it pretty hard to go in/out at an angle. And the spot I usually park in at work, which I back into, will scrape the bottom of the hitch receiver if I roll back too far. In almost every car I've ever owned I've encountered some situation when I need to drive on or off of a curb. I sure hope that time never comes in the Fit, because even as slow as I could crawl it on or off, it likely wouldn't be pretty.

While the Fit may not be super-low like a slammed sport compact car, it's 6 3/4" clearance of the front overhang is 4" lower than our V6 Accord coupe.
