The manual says HB2 bulb, if I bought the H4 bulb will that work?

Can't find that many that says 9003/HB2 bulb...

Also which ones seem to have the relatively longest burn out time, meaning longest lasting?

The whole bulb situation is this:

Low beam and high beam are the same bulb (H4) which when high beam is turned on, there is a reflection change that takes place.

Hope this makes sense.

I'm not sure why you're having trouble finding 9003 bulbs; they're pretty much in every auto parts store and Walmart, as well as being on Amazon. Here's a couple links:

There's pretty much no difference between 9003 and H4 bulbs. Technically the 9003 bulbs have tighter tolerances as to the filament location, but for all practical purposes they are they same. Here's a description of the difference:

The headlights with the longest spec'd life that I've seen are Sylvania 9003LL bulbs, but I can't find them for sale anywhere. Personally I'd rather have brighter bulbs than longer life ones though (both would be awesome but seem to be mutually exclusive).

HB2 and H4 is the same shit.

Herein lies the issue. I believe Honda Markets the bulb as an HB2 while the rest of the word knows it as an H4 or 9003.

The Phillips bulbs have received good reviews and the sylvania silverstars (while nice) have a bad reputation of burning out soon. Hoen supposedly makes a great bulb which is super bright and lasts a long time but stick with the 35W bulbs as you might melt the housing/wiring without a relay harness. (they aren't HID, regular Halogen).

Avoid HID unless you are looking at a Projector Retrofit.

Will this be an issue with power rating on the Fit?

I've seen a few other Fit Freak members' signatures mention these bulbs...you should be good. I use the Philips Xtreme Power and they've treated me well so far too.

You will have no issues with them. Just remember DO NOT touch the glass.

Phillips makes good bulbs be it Crystal Vision or Xtreme Powers.

Okay, got my Philips Crystal Vision Ultra 9003 bulbs in today, and just finished installing them. Took may be 5 mins total for install. Kept the factory bulbs as spare.

Observations, turned them on, and didn't really see a significant difference between the philips and the factory ones.

The Philips are just meant to be whiter than the factory, correct? :confused:

What is the temperature rating on these bulbs, does anyone know?

I'm waiting on mine to arrive.. but do note they're 60W and not the standard 55Watts.

Did you do a side by side comparison (one standard / one new bulb)? That's where you see the biggest difference.

No the Philips aren't suppose to be brighter (more output) they are just more white like you said.

Standard halogen bulbs are a temp. rating of 3200K-3800K. I believe the Philips are rated around 4300K-4600K. I've noticed they give off a whiter light and reflect off signs much better making it easier to see.

Do not use hid conversion kits on your fit!!! The alternator system only charges when the battery needs it so if your hids kick on while the engine is on it will pull power from the battery and your car will stall!

Yes with the third generation 2015 fit. Anything older than that is fine to use an hid kit but the 2015 fit will not work with an hid kit. I was driving at 45 miles an hour when my headlights came on and stalled my car.

I just find that really strange. Anyone else have this problem?

I tried it a few times and it ended up giving me a check engine light after stalling/ turning off completely. The dealership said it was a very common problem that has happened to many new fits. They pulled up some other forums where other fit owners had the same problem. I was pretty upset, I thought I had done enough research and I only got to enjoy my hids for 2 days

Well that sucks. Seems like they have regressed in some areas with the 15s.
