Rear washer fluid leak?
I have a 2009 fit. If I haven't used the rear washer fluid recently (an hour) then there will be a 2-3 second delay the next time I use it. The fluid in the hose is either leaking back into the tank or there is a leak somewhere else, possibly damaging who-knows-what.
Are there check valves in the pump that can be easily replaced? Or is there a common place to look for a leak in the hose? The fluid is NOT coming out onto the window. Thanks! |
The rear washer hose goes back through the passenger door sills. There's a few connectors involved, but most are not in an easily accessable location nor where they would be disturbed. I would first check the connection just under the inside top of the hatch. You'll see it when the hatch is open. That area can get battered by winter ice.

Thanks for the tip...that piece looks OK. I'll be taking it to the dealer on Monday (still in warranty) but I have a feeling I already know their answer. If I knew it was just draining back into the reservoir I wouldn't worry so much.

So a 2 - 3 second delay? What is the problem? That is the way it works. Live with it or trade it. Geez
