ahhhh yeah my invoice says that too.. so they replaced all 4 springs?

does anyone have an invoice that doesn't list "4 Lost Motion springs $0.00" in it?

I am just waiting for an Odyssey to pick me up and take me to dealer for mine.

Funny how I am not paranoid about it eh?

Hey soon as I walked in the Service Rep said you have your Fit here for recall. Nice he recognized me. Slowly building a rapport with him.

OH OH my cowl is missing some clips from Swift job. I wonder if they will replace it?

I could tell they did take stuff apart in the engine compartment but I can't exactly tell if they replaced all 4 springs (since I wasn't there). The service adviser told me they did replace all four springs and also added a wedge in there to adjust the valves. I guess I have to go on his word they did the work. If it fails down the road I will take it to another dealership and all hell will break loose if I find out they didn't do the work as well as corporate will be finding out too.

Well KC nope but it did not fly off on way home so I am happy. They did "horrors" wash it as well. I guess I shopuld call Corporate and complain eh? The springs were replace.

I was asking and he said they have some AHs here too. Paranoids were calling not wanting to drive until repaired etc.

Committobe - you should be. Geez get over it.

I'm two years behind you.

Sadly, to many it's nothing more than an excuse to get up in the morning.
To us guys it was the habit we had to get us here, well not 'here' but in a position to try and enjoy a crowd like this, no that makes little sense either... here to the point of being able to smile at it all is what I'm trying to say, I guess.

Life is good, and you just got a free valve adjustment for your Taffy.

Spoke to my dealer again in Atlanta and car is going in on Monday. One thing they said was that Honda is recommending that dealers only tear down the engine once for the recall. Seems like the kit is floating in more now through dealers - and many times, same day completion. Just FYI for everyone wondering about the 2 visit theory.

Yes it is good and Taffy liked her valves being "adjusted"

Recall

"Grover" received the LMS recall work today!

In to the dealer at 1:00pm, out at 4:45pm. @$$ got sore from the hard seats in the waiting room...

Originally told I would have to make two appointments, one to verify that the LMS recall needed to be done, and a second to actually do the work.

Very glad they decided to do everything on the same visit.

Valves very quiet now, so I guess that the excuses I got from another dealer like "They all do that", "That's normal", "It's the injectors", turns out to be a total load of b*llsh*t.

I've been complaining about the valve noise pretty much ever since I bought the car, and it's finally gone, so others with tappet noise can have hope that it CAN be fixed.

Glad it's over...

ha ha too funny. THEY asked a question...I gave an answer and voiced my opinion. I wasn't serious...I have the up most confidence in the dealership doing the work correctly. I was just stating a scenario if they didn't do the work (since that was what the question was all about in the first place). If you read back in the beginning of this thread I was never worried about this fix (check post #44 since my "anger" bothers you). I think you need to be less sensitive and don't read into things so much.

anyways....

Well, I dropped my Fit off at the dealer tonight after work. Tomorrrow, they'll do the recall work. They gave me an '03 Accord to drive in the meantime.

Lost Motion Springs Replaced

Our local dealership took care of the problem in 3 hours today and per the receipt; they "installed updated lost motion springs as part of product update".

Part Number: HON 04148-RK8-305
Description: SET, LOST MOTION

After the fix, the steering wheel seems to be turning much smoother and the brakes seem more responsive too. I don't know if it's just me or not, but it seems to be the case.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. It's the normal steering response to the suddenly unbridled horsepower, or as is said, "Waking up the mice." ;-)

Cowl issues seem to be most prevalent.
