pulled the trigger...
Today, on a 2011 Honda Fit Sport Automatic in Silver.
First impressions... amazing! ...it feels like I'm driving a go-kart. ...apparently my old Neon is going to auction. |
Congrats!! I just got my 2010 a few weeks ago and LOVING the gas savings :)
|
Congrats! Did they go for MSRP due to the Japan crisis? I read some Honda/Toyota dealers were doing that.
|
Congratulations Paul... you will grow to like your FIT in no time. Very wallet friendly.. oil change every 8K to 9K...very functional, carry passengers or haul lots of stuff, back passenger doors open almost 90 degrees wide...... and I am usually on high when I fuel up.
|
I am very pleased to officially join the Fit Freak group of happy owners now that I finally have my own.
This dealer is not gouging consumers over the situation in Japan... they offered me $1,000 off the MSRP. As bad as things are in Japan... it will get sorted out. I am very happy. :) |
congrats post pics, ;)
we have a 2011 buyers threat |
Perhaps old news for some, but it was something new for me...
Parked the Fit to go into the insurance office yesterday and found the doors would not lock when pressing lock on the key. Came to discover the rear hatch was not shut correctly. Made a mental note over that little gotcha for future reference. I also found it out of the ordinary yesterday when the sales guy let me take the Fit out unaccompanied for the test drive. |

Congrads on your new Fit and welcome to the Fit Freak family. Nice looking Fit - any modifications in store?

This has been done already: -tint -wheel locks -body side moldings -7year/75,000 warranty Some will say I was nuts to pop on the extended warranty but there was some method to my madness. I put 10k down on the vehicle and have a 2 year loan for the rest. The interest rate dropped from 9.9% to 3.5% with the warranty so as it turned out the payment is exactly the same even with the cost of the warranty figured in. Considering: -door sill plates -iPod so I don't have to mess with CDs for music -figure out a GPS mount... there doesn't seem to be any place obvious. Yeah, I'm one of those rare people who still doesn't have an iPod. I have an MP3 player but the format is unrecognized by the system with a nice "UNSUPPORTED" message on the screen... argh. I may upgrade the battery but considering the battery is covered with the warranty I may leave that. Other than that... I'll be leaving it stock and be enjoying miles and miles of worry free motoring after being in a POS since 2007. :D |
iPod / mp3
Paul,
Instead of having to invest in an iPod you could just buy a cheap usb memory stick and place your mp3 files on there for playing back in your new Fit... that would save you quite a bit of money. |
Very nice. I've got 450 miles on my 2011 so I'm still loving that new car smell. I mostly just want to drive mine too. I popped for the progress rear sway bar and it made a very nice improvement for very little in funds, just $131. I find the ride a little bouncy and was wondering if different springs might give a smoother ride, but I don't really want to lower the car that much. I need to get my windows tinted soon too.
Welcome to the clan. |

clubrsx.com here . And it was $135 with free shipping. Included all the hardware and took 1/2 hour to install including jacking up the car. You need 6mm allen key, a 14mm socket, ratch handle and torque wrench. Didn't have to remove anything, but I did need to pry the passenger side spring bushing out of the way with a screw driver for the center bolt.
Makes the corners extra fun. :) |

Now past the break-in period, as per the owners manual, with
mileage sitting at 660 miles on the odo. So far proving to be a solid vehicle with no issues... unlike my Toyota Camry where I was running back to the dealership almost every week when it was new. Laid a coat of wax on earlier this morning so it is ready for Texas summer sun & heat. Speaking of Texas sun & heat... I have the sun shade for the front window I picked up from the dealier. This thing is huge... rolling it up is a PITA and causes me to realize how large that front window is. Ordered a cup holder mount for the GPS... http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResu...5/Default.aspx ...the flex arm is extremely stiff on this one. So far seems to work well and gives me the option of using the center console cup holder or the one in the upper dash beside the driver's door. My only complaint is that it is rather bulky and needs to be stored under the back seat. Waiting for the locking gas cap and touch-up paint from Bernardi. Sorry, no plans to mod the Fit... lots of plans to enjoy reliable motoring for a long time. End of my trivial update... back to your regular more exciting programming. :D |
