Honda Performance Development Fit to take on Pike's Peak this weekend.
oh yeah, pikes peak race is coming up! i gotta look for the live cams....
I like the idea of a Fit geared more for serious driving instead of serious scraping on every driveway entrance.... That reminds me, I need to go out and reattach one side of my front bumper back onto to the fender.
its interesting they are running the spec-b fit and also running a mid engine honda pilot as well.
fucking sweet! hope there are some videos of it in action.
I think we ALL want to see that bish in action.
I would also like to point out that there is a Mazda 2 running the climb to the clouds on mt. Washington today. I love to see other "B-spec" cars getting out there and being seen! There is also a 2wd rally prepped fiesta running the mt. Washington race, that's cool to see as well. I'd love to see someone start running a Fit in Max-Attack too.

the HPD HONDA FIT came in first place in Exhibition class! James Robinson did an excellent job piloting the fit up pikes peak! i actually saw the car zoom up on the live cams...then i saw it come down. it looked so awesome! the official time will be posted tomorrow. and btw, nobuhiro "monster" tajima broke his own world record, he blasted up the mountain past the checkered flag at 9min.51.287sec!!! first time in history anyone has gone up pikes peak under 10 minutes! and that in a SUZUKI SX4!

Thanks for the pics vtecfit1!
I was actually coming back to this thread to see if anyone had found pics or videos of the Fit. Now I want to see some vids!!! Anyone find any? |
There's defitely a camera on the top of the windshield, so hopefully a vid will show up somewhere soon. They should pull the fuse for DRLs. Also, seeing those mudflaps drag makes me feel better about mine haha.

I would hope he won considering it was the only vehicle in that class to run the race. I was disappointed in the effort though. I mean, the Nissan Leaf bested it by more than a whole minute. I certainly was not expecting that.

Don't be disappointed. Electric vehicles have great low end torque, which is important on a climb where your momentum is constantly getting squashed by hard corners. And electrics won't suffer at high altitude like gas engines will. I have to believe the 1.5L was huffing and puffing in the last sections of that climb. |
you gotta admit though, it had to be so fun driving up pikes peak in a fit! i wish i could have that kind of driving emotion (leagally) somewhere over here near seattle.
