Low beams don't work but the hi beams do

The gd3 has a recall for this issue about the connector corroding or overheating.

Both low beams went out on hids, took them off and put the oem bulbs in and only the hi's work.

This happen to anyone else?

there are 6 fuses that protect the various headlight circuits on a GE (2009 page 309):

15 Daylight running lights
28 headlight main
32 right headlight low beam
34 left headlight low beam
48 left headlight high beam
51 right headlight high beam

I'd check these first with 32 and 34 being of most interest. If they are blown, don't replace with a higher amperage and put the HIDs back in. This may cause a fire.

If these are OK then maybe there's a burned-out relay. You'd need a wiring diagram and test tools to verify.

Thanks, I replaced the hi and low fuses on both sides.

I guess because I got a set of cheap ebay hids, it burnt the fuses.

Probably when one side went, the voltage spiked enough to cause a mini-surge and the other side went at almost the same time.

I thought HIDs required a ballast or some electronic driver to make them light?

Anyway, glad it lit up for you.
