banging when braking while backing up

hi,

I would like a second opinion - my honda dealership says there is no problem.

when I put my 2009 jazz in reverse and start to back up, as soon as I brake there is an audible thunk. so, more or less every time I reverse park I hear this noise.

I only noticed this sound after the dealer changed all four brake pads. nothing when I brake going forward.

hmmm.....

Check your caliper bracket bolts. I had the same problem on my old civic and it was a loose bolt.

I like the loose caliper too but you may have a pad that is rocking in the direction of rotation. Check your pads for a smooth FLAT surface or hangup with the piston. When you say all 4 brake pads was that all 4 wheels or just the 4 pads in front? If your rear brakes are drums there can be a 'repositioning' of the shoes there as well but I'm going to go with 4 wheel discs considering your location.
good luck.

thanks - I'm taking the car into service on friday. I will insist they recheck the caliper bolts and for rocking pads. it's four disk brakes...
