Suggestions for a twin power socket adapter that fits?

I need an extra power socket in my Fit and wanted to use a twin socket adapter.

Does anyone know if this one would fit? Is there another that you would suggest?

Don't know why it shouldn't. The size is universal as far as I know. I have a 3-socket corded plug and works with all my cars.

Local stores - Frys, Radio Shack, Best Buys, etc. should have them. Don't remember where I bought mine. :)

Yeah. It's just that some of these adapters get a little chunky. I'm assuming that it shouldn't bump into the cupholders.

That's why I bought the corded one so I can move it around depending on the car I use it with. I slapped on a velcro on the side of mine which gives me some location flexibility. I usually attach it to the side of the center console, depending on the car I'm driving.

Hanging two leads off a dual plug like that gets things real crowded, I've tried. My plan is to install another socket in the rear of the console once I get around to it. I can't say I've seen a corded one but never really looked either. I keep the GPS plugged in to the OEM and have the XM dock hot wired. Need one more for charging, that can live in the console.

Am thinking that this might be a neater alternative. A cupholder power adapter. It also has USB ports and a battery-level check indicator.

Good find! That's exactly what I would plug into the extra socket I'm planning on installing. I need to dedicate the OEM plug for the GPS.

arrrrg. irresistible urge to buy it now. That's actually pretty clever.

I have a similar (no power) cup holder gizmo to hold my GPS for the Fit when I need the GPS.

You might also want to pull the panel off and mount a couple more receptacles. I took mine off to install heated seat switches in this area.

only problem is if you spill your drink on it. it will blow your fuse.

depeding on wat the op's doing i suggest getting at least one of the two hardwired. you can buy dual USB power sockets these days too.

I have a 4-way splitter sitting in the little area past the two center cupholders.

I actually ran out of sockets on my road trip... GPS, phone, BT headset, tablet AND inverter (for my camera battery). It sucks when they all run out of power at the same time!

I would consider hardwiring my GPS since it's always plugged in my car, but the plug is also a traffic receiver, so no dice there. The rest are sometimes put away.

Do you have a pic of it? I'm looking for a gizmo of that sort as well.

That doesn't look too complicated. How did you remove the panel? Any ideas where I might be able to buy a matching outlet and a split-out cable?

Going back to the idea of installing a 2nd outlet into the panel itself ...


It looks like I could buy part #3 (39620-TA0-003, $7.30) & #4 (39624-SZ3-L01, $6.73) from the diagram below to install an extra socket. I'd just need to drill a matching hole if there's room behind the panel.

I think I just need a connector. Wondering if that would be #1. Unfortunately, I can't find it listed in any of the online Honda parts catalogs.

I'm assuming that #39 is used only if the vehicle has a cigarette lighter assembly (#'s 36, 37 & 38) rather than a power outlet.

BTW, I found the parts list here:

WTF is 39??? The only difference between the cigarette lighter option and non lighter option should be the lack of the little flap that goes over it, maybe slightly different plug because it fits different, so why #39 is there???

Maybe it's the Honda "secret cigarette lighter handshake" connector.

#1 is for the Navi model...that's where the AUX input for the radio is. You would use #3 and #4 to install a second 12v outlet. I only know about dealing with BernardiParts.com, but when you put in your vehicle trim it will only give you parts in the list that came with that trim...i.e., #1 would not show up in the list unless the trim you put in was the Navi model. But the diagram is the same for all trims.

Not sure what #39 is but it looks to be related to #1 somehow.
