Sensation Blue Pearl vs Vortex Blue Pearl

Sensation Blue Pearl B548P
Vortex Blue Pearl B553P

I bought a 2011 Vortex Blue Pearl Fit and was disappointed to see that the Mugen kit doesn't come prepainted in the Vortex Blue color. I couldn't find the pieces unpainted/primered (except for the rear), so I bought the front pieces in Sensation Blue and I bought the rear piece primered, so I can get it painted to match.

I received the front lip and grill yesterday, so I decided to throw it on real quick to see the color differences. :hyper:

I washed my car and took a real good look and I couldn't really tell the difference between Sensation Blue on the Mugen pieces vs my Vortex Blue. I guess the Vortex Blue looks slightly darker, but hardly noticable. Anyway, here are the pictures...They're just iPhone pics. I'll take better pictures some other day.

My question is...have you guys really noticed that big of a difference? I've read on here that people say they're not the same color, but I can't really tell. Maybe I'm slightly color bling or something...I dunno

I'm thinking of just keeping the Mugen pieces Sensation blue, so I don't have to repaint them. What do you guys think?

I have the same exact dilema when I try to order the mugen kit for my vortex blue fit and they only had the blue sensation color but I took a chance and order it anyways but when it came in it was close enough that It didnt bother me too much. Ill just have it repainted later when the rock chips have done a number on the bumper. Its not the same color but close enough for me and I am pretty picky but its not too bad. Spoke with bernardi honda and they told me they will not come with the vortex color anytime soon.

Looks good to me!

unless your really looking for the difference you probably wont notice it. It will likely be most apparent in really bright sunlight which will make the two pearls reflect slightly different and when its dirty as eff. lol

The vortex has a slightly darker more violet hue than the blue sensation, why they decided to do that, who knows honda is stupid sometimes. In the closeup pic of the side of the new mugen lip you can tell they are different hues but if you really cant tell and dont want to spend the 150ish to repaint, dont bother...however it WILL be cost effective if you do get everything painted at once by a body shop since ur rear is only primed, because they have to mix the paint anyway...something to think about!

Looks the same. Nice rims too. What are they?

I'm trying really hard to see the difference. I was looking at the paint differences today during the middle of the day in direct sunlight. I also looked when the sun was setting. It still looks the same to me.

I'm still trying to decide if I should get everything painted over...I've been considering painting my JDP hood and rear spoiler. Or maybe I'll just re-order the rear pre-painted so I don't have to deal with it.

My wheels are ce28n's.

Clean. Just match the rears and leave the other parts alone, IMO, it looks great already.

You dropped on apexi coilovers?

Yeah, I'll probably give it a few more days before I decide...my Mugen rear isn't here yet anyway. Maybe I'll start seeing the difference, but I'm leaning towards just getting a prepainted piece.

Yup, Apexi, lowest setting, no collars removed.

Weird, I thought it would look lower

Specs on rims and tires? Do you rub/fenders rolled?

I'm about to put on my 17s too, hence all the questions. :D

howiedoit 09-29-2011 11:27 AM

I thought they should go lower too...sometimes I wish they did. But this is a good height, where it's not horribly inconvenient.

17x7.5 (+43) 205/45-17.

Camber bolts from a civic with some negative camber (forgot the specs, but it's about 1.5-2 degrees, I think). Slight pull and roll on the front fenders and I still rub on dips. I haven't been able to determine where the rubbing is coming from because it looks like my tires should clear the fenders and I already cut out the parts of the fender lining that were rubbing. I've checked a few times and I can never find any rubbing spots. Maybe it's that tab that connects the front bumper to the fender? ...I'm not sure. Rears have no problem.

Thanks for the info. I'll take pics of mine when I put them on, hopefully by next week.

You should add 10mm spacer on the rears to flush them out. Just a thought :wavey:

Cool...I'm looking forward to seeing it. I thought about adding a spacer for the rear, but I want to get this rubbing in the front figured out before dealing with the rears potentially rubbing.

Right now I'm running 16x7 +40 on mine and 10mm spacers on the rear. It just flushes it out and I'm lowered all the way like you.

Im pretty sure it will be the same but always do you ofcourse:D
