So happy to have my Fit back after trading for a Prius c!

I had traded my 2010 Honda Fit sport w manual tranny for a 2012 Toyota Prius c on March 7th. The c is a great car but I found myself continuously comparing it to my Fit. I really missed the Fit's superior visibility, perfect driving position and steering wheel, the amazing roominess and cargo versatility, and the ziipiness and fun of my excellent manual transmission. So I was reall going back and forth trying to justify keeping the c but as it was eating away at me, I went and drove a new Honda Fit to get it out of my system and right then and their I knew I wanted my Fit back. So the dealer I traded to still had my Fit on the lot and we worked out a deal to trade back. I know it was a foolish move financially, but I am sooooo very happy to have my Fit back!

Quite a testament in favor of the Fit! Every time I think about getting rid of mine, I can't find anything out there that has as few of compromises as the Fit's total package. It does everything well, and a few things exceptionally well.

Yes Hayden, I have said all along since owning the 2007 Fit first, then upgrading to the 2010, that it would take a very special car to lure me away from the Fit. I thought maybe the Prius c was that car, but after a month and a half of driving it, I couldn't help but want my Fit back. 5 yrs of driving Honda Fit and still excited to drive it everyday!

the time I was in a rental prius for a week, i suffered migraines and had a strange urge to sing "the wheels on the bus go round and round." I was glad to be rid of it.

I traded my 09 Fit for a 2012 Fit in less than three years- I wanted navi. Now I'm done for the long haul. Once you go Fit, you can't go back- only forward with a newer Fit!

Haha it's almost like you broke up with your girlfriend, got a new one, then went back to the old one after you realized she was better after all.

Glad you're happy haha.

I have gone through my fair share of cars, and can honestly say the fit is the first one I am not bored of after a year.

I just love driving this little car, and I really don't know why.

Fit 1, prius -10000 ;)

My girlfriend is looking at C's. If she doesn't care about cargo/agility do you think it's a good fit for a daily driver? Basically she wants something small, good on gas, and cute...I frickin know...

Hey, Kirkuleez-

Was the Prius C quieter than the Fit (as in, interior noise on the freeway)? I love my Fit, but I'm super tempted by one article that said the Prius C was surprisingly quiet.

Prius's are surprisingly terrible at 11.3 second 0-60 means its slower than the Fit, has less space, and cost ALLOT more. Just Wait for the Fit EV if you want a hybrid. At least then you know you have the space and features of a Fit. The Fit is not loud at all.

lowkeymods 04-20-2012 08:06 PM

I don't really think it costs more...a low end C costs the same. Just doesn't look right imho.

Heck no it doesnt 19,710 is the base price. You can get a nice sport MT with all a couple of accesories for 18,300 out the door. The prius is gonna cost about 21K out the door. Not worth it for a mediocre and boring car. At least the Fit has character:vtec:

Fit EV isn't a hybrid. It is pure electric with no gas motor at all. the US isn't getting the fit Hybrid that other countries have. At least not yet... it'll eat into the insight market.

Not only that, but the Fit EV will only be first available as a lease, with an eventual price of $37,000.

A young teenager asked me if my car was a Prius. I was slightly offended but I guess the kid didn't know better lol.

krunk13 04-21-2012 12:30 AM

Yeah people always think my Fit is a hybrid. Makes me a sad panda:rolleyes:

Kirkuleez 04-21-2012 12:41 AM

Yes, I like my old girlfriend much better lol!! The Prius c is a great car, it's just slower and not quite as fun as the Fit. It is pretty quiet engine and road noise wise, but wind noise is as bad as the Fit. The cabin is actually pretty spacious similar to the Fit but not as much headroom and the cargo space similar area wise but doesn't have the height like the Fit making it far less functional. It seems very well put together but they went pretty cheap inside like on the door panels. It all comes down to personal preference. They are both awesome cars and if i could, I'd have one of each. I like the c way better than the regular Prius as it is somewhat fun to drive for a hybrid and handles well. It's pricey tho, a level 2 is 20,800 and a level 3 w moonroof is 23,400 and that's w out alloy wheels. The tech gadgets are nice but distracting. The driving position and steering wheel are waaay better in the Fit and the Fit's ergonomics are perfect for me. And of course the Fit has amazing visibility and cargo versatility. So those that were interested, it's not a bad car, but the Fit still rules for me!! I will miss the 50 mpg average tho lol!

Wow! Almost a Hallmark story line. :D You're lucky you got your Fit back. Thanks for the comparison write-up... :wavey:
