My Report on my Fit!

Hello all, just over a year ago I purchased a 2011 Fit Sport 5 speed new - the dealership I purchased it from called me on the 1 year anniv. and I thought I would post my thoughts on the car.

A brief summary, I come from a Honda family (Dad has V6 Accord, Mom a CRV). This past year I have driven the car around the DC Metro area.

In one year, I put 16K miles on it.

I get between 32 - 40 mpg - no complaints there!

Other than some interior LED's, no modifications have been made.

The most annoying thing to me believe it or not is the clutch, it took me a few MONTHS to get used to it, as one that has always driven a manual - for some reason it just took me forever to get used to it - I describe it as a "floating clutch" with never having the same grabbing point.

The paint quality sucks! I have more chips and cracks and notice more of them every week it seems. The vortex blue shows all the flaws very easily.

The A/C is a bit lacking overall when driving on short trips - I live 3 miles from work and don't bother using it as the windows are far more effective on short trips when temps hit the 90F mark.

I have no other complaints, the car is fun to drive and very comfortable for me - I am 6'2" and love the interior and all of its features.

I have had no maintenance issues (knocking on wood) and had 2 oil changes at the dealership.

In a few months, I will be taking it to Houston where I will be relocating so I am thinking of tinting the windows to help with the heat somewhat.

Nice report! Tinting the windows will definitely help as it did greatly on mine. I would suggest getting them tinted as dark as your state will allow including a strip on top of the windsheild. I had all mine tinted at 35% as that's the minimum legal limit here and it really doesn't look that dark. I think it's because there is so much window area that there's still a good bit of light that comes in.

That makes a big difference!
