A/C Delete in Defrost?

Does anyone have a mod to prevent the a/c compressor from coming on in defrost mode?

quite a few, actually...

The mod involves yanking out a wire accessible through the panel underneath the A/C controls (above the console tray). Operation remains normal with the A/C button.
