Bolt-on Wheel Cover Problem/Question

2 Attachment(s)
Because I don't like the stock Fred Flintstone style hubcaps on my 2013 Fit Base, I purchased these bolt-on OEM hubcaps originally made for the Civic:

I also purchased the lug nuts for a Civic thinking that I'd need ones with the rubber washer to hold on the hubcaps. Unfortunately, the lug nuts are a different height on the cone portion near the threads. This results in the rubber washer not fitting snug against the hubcaps which makes the hubcaps sit loose on the wheel. Here is a comparison of the lug nuts:

Yes, I know I could get new wheels instead but this solution was cheaper and it seems like a waste to get rid of my existing wheels and tires since they only have 3,000 miles on them. I may end up getting wheels down the line, once the tires wear out but right now I just want to get these hubcaps secured on the wheels.

So I'd like to know...has anyone here used bolt-on wheel covers on their Fit? If so, which lug nuts did you use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the civic nuts are a good fit otherwise, I'd just put an extra rubber grommet (or replace the existing one) so it's snug. Alternatively you could use metal washers, but try to rust-proof ones... Visit the grommets/washer section of home depot.

It may be the contour of the wheel that's giving you problems. Do the edges of the wheel covers sit snug against the wheel? I had the same style covers on an older Honda, and when I replaced the wheel with a used one, the cover never fit right.

go buy some rubber O rings at the hardware store. Overall cost will be pretty cheap

If you ever want to get rid of your OEM Fit hubcaps let me know, i'll come pick them up in Sac.

I agree with just getting rubber washers from Home Depot like has been said.

I've never had bolt-on hubcaps before so maybe you'd know; Aside from the lug nuts holding them on, should the hubcaps fit loose or tight? The clips around the outside edge don't seem to be doing anything.
