MUGEN Quick Shifter - quick question

Thinking of getting the Mugen quick shifter but it looks like the one already installed on my 09 Sport.
Any different than the one equipped on the Sport?

Personally, I cannot see any advantage of changing the shifter in an AT other than for esthetics. Obviously it's different if you had a MT but for an AT.....nah. YMMV

Might have to clarify this...

ITs the Mugen quick shifter (mechanism) that I'm referring to.

does it really shift better? drive better?

heres a pic of what I'm talking about

Yes it is different. The length of the arm below the pivot point is the difference and you can't really see that in the photos.

But for a much cheaper alternative the Skunk2 short throw adapters work exactly the same and are much cheaper. I have had it in mine for over 7 years and still working fine

to be fair, the skunk2 kit will shorten the throw but not feature increased return spring stiffness nor do I think it will shorten side to side throw, just front to back.

*Update*
So I got this and

This Mugen shifter is great! :thumbups:
Super easy to install and soooo worth it.
Quicker response and its taking just a lil getting used to.
Much better response in using the MT, more fun to drive.

its making me feel like I have to update my MT driving skills :vtec:

that's great to hear. i'm still debating which short shifter to get. I think i'd prefer the mugen, or it's knockoff, the revo over the skunk2 or h-fit kits. already ordered the circuit hero shift extender since the stock knob sits a bit low for me as it is.

Whats a good price for the Mugen? obviously retail cost is never worth paying.

The Mugen Short Shifter is an awesome Addition.
Definitely can feel the difference.
:vtec:

I got mine used for $100 shipped.
It was months old. Prev owner had it for about 3 months he said. Looked new.
I saw on FaceBook Group "Socal Fitted" that someone was selling one.

It DOES feel better. Shifting is way more fun! I added the optional armrest with the slider as well (got rid of the crappy basic one) and both work well together :)

I was apprehensive at first cause both the stock and the Mugen looked exactly the same when I went to install.
but after that initial test drive I haven't looked back.

Worth every penny.
