Where's my antenna?

Just bought a new 2013 base model fit last month. I seem not to have an antenna? Sorry, I know this sounds dumb, but I really bought the car because I could afford it, not for some deep love. Do the honda people hide the antenna in the car or is it something I have to buy aftermarket or should I just call them up?

Thanks for your help.

Missing Antenna

Hi! Congrats on your purchase & welcome to the forum. The radio antenna is standard on the car. It is possible that the dealer may not have installed it, so you should check w/ them. It is NOT something that you should have to pay for. I would also suggest that you thoroughly read your owner's manual, as it will help to provide answers to the seemingly "dumb" questions that can arise w/ ownership of a new car!:thumbups:

Because I could afford it is a very good reason to buy a car. It's just a tool, and it has to do certain things for you at a price that makes sense.

Honda is a good manufacturer and the Fit's cheap, versatile and fun, so there are plenty of reasons for lots of different people to get them. It's always good to get on board a car forum for your model even if you're not a cult member. Welcome, and enjoy the ride.

There should be a black antenna sticking out near the back of the roof. See pics below. As fittman said, maybe the dealer didn't screw it on before giving you the car. just ask them. If you look at the roof, do you see a nub, where the antenna can screw on?

That's how I noticed I was missing one. I saw that I had a like port thing and all the other fits had an antenna. I just got off the phone with the dealership and they're sending me one tomorrow.

Thanks y'all.

Check your glove compartment.

Now that would be embarrassing. While in there take out the manual.

Now RTFM :p

You honestly think I didn't look there? And all you kind folks recommending that I read te manual? YOU freaking read it and tell me what it says about the antenna.

No need for anyone to get upset. If it's not in any compartment in the car, obviously they forgot to reinstall it after the PDI procedure. These cars are shipped with the antenna removed to prevent damage, and the employees probably just forgot to reinstall it.

That said did you check in the spare tire well? behind the front seats on the floor? Or in the hidden compartment below the rear seat?

All things aside, reading your owner's manual is a good thing to do- if only so that you aren't starting with a completely blank slate then you need to change a tire at night in the rain when you're late for something.

Heck in a couple months she will be taking it off to get a Shark Fin anyways.

It is amazing though what is in the manual.
