Talking Space Egg Progress Thread

I decided to start a thread to help to simplify my signature.

new wheels. these tires in the top photo are too big 185/65/15 increase over stock diameter by 1/2" too big, too heavy. I have since replaced them with kuhmo sense 185/60/15 these are great tires, ill probably keep them for a long long time. also reinstalled my TPMS which will help with autocross if i ever make it back out there.

grafitti excuse for pix - lowered

Fitments Done:
* Progress RSB
* Italian made Imola R81 "holies" from the mini cooper +45 offset 185/60/15 Kumho Sense -dailies

* HD lip
* Stubby antenna
* Front camber -.9 (top bolt)

I saw someone linking some replica Mugen sides recently... maybe those would work?

How much camber did you have before increasing? Any noticeable camber wear? I have factory alignment right now and seeing some more wear on the outer contact patch.

Don't gamble, get some side skirts from a website like hondapartsnow.

Myself, I will be having them custom made at a local shop.

Tagging to follow this thread. If you still have the Slipstreams then they would be GREAT to use for autocross. Your sensors should be swappable and finally allow you to disable VSA on your runs.

was at stock 0 before. probably going to buy another set of camber bolts, because i feel that camber has been the best mod on my car yet for performance.

No noticeable wear but only been at it for like a month or two. seems in autocross i wear a lot on the outer edge like i have positive camber which very well may be, because of body roll...

or tires are not wide enough and/or not running enough air pressure.

i used it to cover a gigantic scratch on that rear panel you can just barely see it in the top image when i first bought the car.. it looks like shiny reflection but it was in fact an enormous scratch from a previous owner removing a sticker with a razor blade.

Good old union flag to the rescue! ...oh and we're british.

Received ground control coilover sleeves in mail friday.

Started researching how to install and installed the rear ones saturday morning.
Big thanks to Kelan (Hootie) for his tips to make it easier.

few quick notes:
1.) you don't have to remove the rear wheels!
2.) the ABS lines have a top and a bottom to disconnect at each side
3.) if you jack up the spring seat it relieves the pressure on the strut, and you can easily remove the bolt.

I used this thread to help me along the way:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...r-ge8-fit.html

now for the process pics!

put the rear of the car on stands

detached the ABS and then the strut bolts (each side)

spring will pop out with a tug and a wiggle

ground controls installed with eibach springs, just need to reattach bolts to struts

only dropped about 1" i am testiing things. can drop another 1.5" if needed

will install the fronts next weekend and post up pics / notes.

they will provide the spring rate you request, or make suggestions for you based on your setup.

mine came:
FRONT : 125lbs/in or 2.3kg/mm (like swift's)
REAR: 200lbs/in 3.6kg/mm (like progress's)

asked for daily driving with occasional autocross

ok front springs/coil sleeves installed today.

I did the job completely solo, with only hand tools and old fashioned elbow grease. long story short.. It took me 8 hours to complete!

Notes:/tips
1.) to prevent axle issues, --use a jack under the control arm. --use bungees pulled taut as shown in process pic. this will save you the dreaded axle troubles people complain about. -it didn't happen to me anyways...
2.) I tried to do the job without removing the cowl, but in the end I had to take it off anyways. I recommend you just do it, --once I did, the job got that much easier
3.) take your time! its a long job but rushing only makes it longer!

process pics:

study this image. it is how I avoided the axle problems everyone complains about

cowl removed. it wasn't that bad. i did break a bunch of clips though... take your time with it its not hard, but it is slow.

Lowered pix updated in the first post!!
