Has anyone replaced the cigarette lighter with a USB power outlet
I'd like to replace my 2012 Fit's cigarette lighter with a USB plug, but I cant figure out how to gain access to the back of the lighter. Has anyone else tried this?

You could buy one of these and just plug it into the lighter. It is supposed to still let the cover close when put in. Been thinking about getting one, but haven't got around to it yet.

What output voltage do you need? Adapters like this one are available but are 5VDC out.

I've got a USB adapter, but I'd rather just hard wire it since I don't use the cigarette lighter for anything else.
As a related issue, I'd also like to install another USB plug next to the existing cigarette lighter that will move the USB cable from the glove box. These are the two things I'm looking at:

My problem is that when I looked at the Fit today, I can't seem to figure out how to access the space behind the lighter. |

Pull the trim/panel pieces off. I took all this area apart to connect my seat warmers to this circuit. |
honestly just to do the USB power, i recommend u just get a low profile USB adapter from amazon (as posted above).
only if u installed an aftermarket HU with carplay or android auto would i go through the hassle of swapping out the dc socket. |
Aliexpress you can find a lot of this stuff.. Good luck!

Well, I finally picked up the Aukey adapter, and.... it doesn't fit quite flush enough to let the outlet cover close. So I plugged it into the other outlet I had added and had tapped into the circuit. Looks like the OEM outlet is shallower than an after market one.
