Something Stuck In Aux Jack
Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a 2010 Fit and noticed during the test drive that the 3.5mm jack has something stuck in it. (Picture will be added in post below.) From looking at the manual, it seems to be the cover that comes with the car, broken off. Regardless, I'm looking for advice on if this can be removed (would need to be from inside) and if it can be, could the jack itself be replaced if it were broken? If if it can't be fixed, can anyone advise on how expensive/difficult swapping in an aftermarket head unit is? (yes, I'll search as soon as I post this as well :)) Any advice is appreciated. Thank you! |
My stock radio is sitting in my room and it doesn't look like there's any way to access the back. The headphone jack is part of a large circuit board that contains the rest of the buttons, so you'd likely have to replace the whole radio if you can't pry it out from the front.
As for aftermarket options, you can get a dash kit for ~$17 and all necessary wiring harnesses for <$10, and it's pretty straightforward. |
