Windshield molding replacement

Has anyone replaced the rubber outside molding for the windshield? If so, does the windshield have to be removed? My son's 2009 Fit molding is splitting apart and there is a "skin" that is also coming off. Any help is appreciated.

that should be a separate piece from the glass and the glue they use to mount the glass onto the frame.

try searching 2009 honda fit windshield seal on google.

There are usually some clips that get set in the window adhesive that help hold the trim pieces in.

I think that it is part of a big gasket that fits around glass, so I think, yes, the galss has to come out to replace the gasket. Depending on the mileage, changing the windshield will get rid of all the rock chips.
