iOS 11.1.2 = Unsupported Version?

Anyone else getting an “Unsupported Version” error that cannot be fixed using the usual methods after updating to iOS 11.1.2?

Seen this error often over the past five years, and I’ve resolved the error by unplugging and replugging either end of the USB cable, turning the car off and on, and restarting my phone (both regular restart and hard restart).

Updated to iOS 11.1.2 over the weekend and now none of these methods work. Currently using a non-Apple MFI (“Made for iPhone”) cable in my 2012 Fit Sport (MT, so no Nav for me). Replacing this with an Apple cable seems to be the only option left.

Tried an Apple-branded cable and result was the same.

Anyone know if a USB Bluetooth receiver would work if plugged into the USB cable in the glovebox? Might be a work around.

you mean like the low profile BT receivers for peripherals? i suppose if it supports audio it might work.. i think you might be better off using the 1/8" aux input with your BT receiver and powering the BT receiver from your power socket.

something like this?
Amazon Amazon

my cars run carplay but im still on the old iOS 10 as im not confident yet the 11.1.x is going to be fully compatible without issue.

It’s a Christmas Thanksgiving miracle!

Plugged in my phone this morning out of habit and the phone started working! Had not tried any new tricks since my last post, so I have no idea how the issue resolved itself.

Kenchan, that’s a possibility. Thought this might work based on the questions and answers section:

ooo~ nice. the one you show does look promising. and only $12.99 is worth a try if it ever fails again.
