Good price for a 2013
 

Hi. I'm looking at a used 2013 Honda Fit Sport- red, 1 owner, 5 speed manual, great cosmetic condition inside and out, with 107,000. The maintenance records seems to be pretty consistent as well. What would be a good price range for this car? It's at a dealership, not private seller. This will be my commuter car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, what's your take on the 2018 models? Would it better to just go newer? I'd prefer to stay around $10,000 or less but would buy a 2018 if it is really worth the additional cost. There are several 2018's locally with less than 10,000 miles in the $16,000 to $17,500 range. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

I saw a 5MT 2012 Fit in Alabaster Silver with 90k on it selling for 6,000 at a local mechanic's shop. Whether anything is wrong with it, I do not know, but that might be around a fair price for the one you are looking at.

my 2012 Fit Sport AT with 55k miles was totalled for about $10k. I was looking for a comparable GE8 to replace it with, but either all the 2012-13s had much more mileage or they wanted 1-2k over KBB. I ended up with a 2018 Sport. The GKs have much better fuel economy as you can see in my signature below. Don't really have to try hard to get the better mileage either. The Sports and EXs have Android Auto/CarPlay built in to the new head units. Also, the overall design on the GKs i feel is much better. Everything is more accessible in the engine bay. The GE is so cramped.

Today, we were helping a friend install an aftermarket header on his GE. In order to get to the header and get it out, we had to remove the cowling, the wiper assembly, the drip tray, the airbox, throttle body, and the intake manifold.

My take is, these things are so dead nuts reliable that's it not worth getting a new one. Also, as far as fuel economy on the manuals it has not changed much. Unless there is a feature you want on a new one, then go with an older used one.

If I were in your shoes, I would either buy a '12-13 used or a brand new '18. I would not go with a used GK as the discounts aren't enough to justify loosing the better financing and satisfaction of a brand new car. Newer model Honda's are just typically not a good value.

Dealers are getting pretty motivated to move '18's right now. I'd maybe see what a dealer can do on a new one and, if it doesn't fit your needs/budget, then shop for the best $10k Fit you can find. '12-13 are the best choice in my book, but to each their own.
