Just bought a Fit

I just bought a Honda Fit Sport with 175k miles on it for $3600. The car drives well. Does the group have any suggestions on keeping it running for a long time? How long doe 08 Fits last? I had a 2007, and it ran over 160k until my ex-wife was hit from the side at an intersection..

Both the wife and car gone......

You didn't say if the new to you '08 FIT is manual / auto trans. If AT, check the dip stick, when hot, does it look / smell burnt? Not sure if you are a DIY person but changing out most of the ATF isn't that hard but takes a couple hours to get about 95% new ATF flowing through all parts.

If MT, then check hydraulic fluid level in the clutch system. If clutch not fully disengaging while shifting, you could be doing damage to synchronizers and clutch disc itself.

Check the cabin air filter for mouse nest building activities. Mice in the house damage wires in strange places that are a PITA to find / fix.

Those would be my starting places until you tell us more about your experiences with it.

The Honda Fit Sport I bought is the 5 Speed manual transmission. Thanks
