Thanks for the lead, Lek! I've never heard of PartsQuick, but it looks like I will have a high likelihood of success getting the socket I need from them or my local US Honda dealer (the pic isn't really detailed enough to see for sure). Whew! Please disregard my request to help me out with your local dealer.

It beats me why Honda didn't use the same socket worldwide for the reverse bulb.

I'll go to my local honda dealer next week, but I'm sure Honda US will use this socket for other models.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say NO! You must send the complete assembly, bulbs and all. The US bulb (backup only) will not fit in the JDM lamp. Honda for some reason used common harness connectors, but not common bulb sockets.

I'll let those that have completed the swap correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm still confused... I'm just getting the jdm taillights. Why wouldn't my usdm bulb and usdm socket fit into the lamp?

I think squawking 7500 was kidding because of the hysterical laughter smiley
Remember, he does remarkably well with english but there is a language barrier and things do get lost in the translation. When in doubt, send a PM

well educated guess is, main design theme of the jdm tails are 2 square silver tubes which because of their size might require a smaller bulb

Like all gentlemem said they're different the JDM socket is bigger

so all the one who wanna swap ,you should keep the reverse bulb and socket in the tail light.

I'm so sorry about my last massage.

But the big jdm socket isnt going to plug into the USDM harness. Didnt think this was going to be so complicated. Would I need to order a jdm light harness and re do my entire wiring just to have reverse lights? Or can I just zip tie the USDM bulb to stay in the JDM lens? Since the usdm bulb is smaller I assume it can fit into the JDM lens but it wont stay in place because of the socket?

Think I got it now. Both will plug into the harness, its just the size of the socket that screws into the taillight to keep it in place. So this http://www.partsquick.com/ProductPic...0003%20Picture will plug into the USDM harness, hold the JDM bulb, and fit snugly into the JDM tailight? Just to make sure before I order. Thanks for everyones patience.

Thanks for all the research Squak and Tork. Without the two of you this would not be possible. I will be ordering mine soon just couldn't pass up the deal I got on the turn signal mirrors.

Man so im gonna have to order those sockets from that website and somehow find the jdm bulbs to fit that socket. Does anyone know what size the JDM bulb is and maybe I can get an aftermarket bulb to put in there?

Even your user name has humor

Squawking = airplane transponder.....7500 = hijack....hijacked airplane.

Preaw, what type of airplane do you fly for work?????????

I've never fallen in love with tail light bulbs before, but something about these are quite beautiful

The first picture is just advertisement for the sockets and not for the bulb itself. Im going to e-mail ajay and see if he can get me the sockets and bulbs too.

In a recent survey, 3 out of 4 women preferred the JDM bulb because of it's substantial extra length and girth

I'm sure if you go to a good Honda dealer in the US with the JDM Tail Lights the technicians will have a suitable socket and bulb from another model. The part number can then be shared on Fit Freak.
