Don't worry about the funny characters above, the links work fine...
Enjoy!
(For those of us that can't read Japanese, hover over the text you want to click, and then look down in the lower left corner of your screen (I'm using Google Chrome) - it shows you what it says in English...hope that helps!

Thanks for the links. The RS video is enticing! Why can't American Honda commercials be as sporty and aggressive as this one?
Though I like the RS's aggressive splitter and other unique pieces, it's too boy racer for my tastes. I'll keep my cleaner US design. It's a real delicious looking car. Love how they included the engine sound, which is the same as what the MTs sound like here in the US.

Well just looked at the gearing and it at least has the 4.625 FD that the Sport sports there, but they revised 3-6th from the CR-Z gearing and retains the current RS 1st and 2nd. So if/when I swap to a 6MT, I'll be piece mealing together the gears I believe. I want the Sports 1st gear and the current 3-5th gearing like the CR-Z has.

Now to find out how much the tranny will cost and everything else to swap over.

The front end is "different", but I'm not sure it's an improvement over the north american one. They've made a JDM USDM model. Now it gets a wing, our wheels, and more hangy-down bits to scrape on everything. Actually, it makes it look more like a GD with the large singular dark section. Not sure if like. The grille is sweet though.
It has always had the wheels and the wing as an option, but standard as of October last year. Not a real fan of the looks, much prefer the front end of the RS I have and rear for that matter as well. Also don't like the fact that the RS only comes with the orange/black interior. Yuck, it's pretty ugly to me. The RS only has 6 color choices, Premium White Pearl (extra ₯), Crystal Black Pearl, Deep Sapphire Blue Pearl, Storm Silver Metallic, Premium Yellow Pearl (extra ₯) and a new color Sunset Orange II.
The Fresh Lime color is only available on the Hybrid and only comes with beige interior (another YUCK!). And the Premium Deep Mocha Pearl (extra ₯) isn't available till after December and only on the lesser 15X and 13L.
Honda has revamped the DBW feel on the CVT, maybe making it more like the MT. Like a built in throttle controller, without any control.

Didn't know that, but I have seen thee wheels on a jdm fit from time to time. There are so many more factory options over there.
Yeah, the interior is horrible. Really surprised at such a bold move. What's the Fit RS buyer demographic over there?

Many more 1.3 liters sold than the 1.5 liter, whether RS or the 15X. At least from what I can see everyday on the road. Every now and then I will see another RS, but in both GD and GE the 1.3 liter rules here and there are tons of them everywhere. Cheaper and better FE and also the GD when first released only came in a 1.3 liter here.
I see - so it's really more of one of these econo special editions over there for a very small market, the way we get from time to time with things like the SX4 Sportback which last time I checked, was selling at a rate of like 4 per month nationally. Japan seems to get a lot of packages for each car in general. All it takes is a browse through Gran Turismo to get lost by all the model designations.
Pretty much that's what it is, almost like a Type R. With the expansiveness of the US and the bulk, the 1.3 just would not really cut it there. Even now with the 1.5 it is looked at like a toy by many, just imagine if it came with the 1.3. I'm sure some would buy it there, those looking for even better FE numbers, but overall it just wouldn't make sense in the US in my opinion and Honda sees it the same way, hence why the base is also a 1.5 and not the 1.3.
