BOO! You should have waited for the check to clear before shipping.

you don't need to make multiple threads about this.

You can't beat the safety and security of Pay Pal. Checks are a big, time wasting risk. However, as a buyer, Pay Pal does not give you much protection from sellers who misrepresent the products that they are selling. As long as you receive something from the seller, Pay Pal won't help if the shipment is not as described.

The only safe part is that a Pay Pal deposit can't bounce.

I don't know either party in this story, but my opinion is that the buyer should have done everything possible to make good on payment. Sending a check from a closed account is stupid, and is FRAUD. They put you in jail for that. Santiad may not really be a bad guy, but he sure should have tried harder to contact the seller to fix the mistake (if that is what it was). I don't see much guilt or embarrassment in his post, but that's just me.

Not completely story related except this is what happened to me and there was no money involved.

I was in a Harley forum and a fella posted how he was in Indonesia and in need of a used/broken stator for his bike. He said he couldn't afford to buy a new one but could repair a used one if anybody had one, and lucky for him, I had one in my garage collecting dust. I contacted him and said he could have it for the cost of shipping only and he agreed.

On my way to the Post Office, I decided to step it up on the "nice factor" and opted to pay for the shipping as well since he has fallen upon hard times, it was almost Christmas and it's only going to cost me less than $20.

I emailed him saying it was shipped and I was as anxious for him to get it as he was. And then the day was upon us! He got it! Then not only did he not even so much as thank me for it........HE SWORE at me for not having shipped it in a faster fashion.

When I was into Harleys,(before it was cool to be) I eas always hearing of stuff like that.. When I sold mine to a popular Jesus freak type and scam artist I let him use my Hardy lift to support it in his pickup and also use a coaster wagon to carry extra parts I had thrown in with it... I had to have a friend that worked for him go get the lift but he never could find the wagon... The guy has moved on to being a full blown white collar criminal in the name of God.

so basically... you jumped the gun?

you should edit your first post with clarification for future readers, that the issue has been cleared up.

Angry

Having to look at the title to this post makes me wonder if airing out people for writing rubber checks online is now fashionable, especially in the Fit world. Hey boy meets world, get out and drive your car instead of worrying about floor mats, try writing your car off in an accident and then caring about how clean your carpet is,

as I said in the other thread

My intent was never to rip him off...I dealt with a few forum members and like the forum enough to not want to scam anyone....

I closed the account months and 1 of the checknbooks ended up mixing in with my current account. I was informed of this error when another check didnt clear and that person brought it up to me.

I understand his fear and need to air me out, but I was honestly checking for a pm from him since I hadnt seen it clear my account. Since this transaction could have left either of us burned, I was not about to volunteer an extra check just in case he was just holding the first...

In the beginning I had requested paypal, since I was uneasy with sending a check out in the first place (thereby giving out my acct information and routing number).

Its all said and done.....ADMIN please remove this thread.
