My horn upgrade!

I guess this is the appropriate forum to post this in so... I had my horn setup from my civic before I had the fit! I mounted them to a bracket that I fab'd up rather quickly/simply! I made the bracket so it centered the horns almost perfectly behind the "H" emblem in the front grille so they can't really be seen! I didn't want to cut into my stock horn wire so I used a male connector and cut it down to size until it fit snuggly into the female connector! Other than that I just wired the two power and two grounds up and had the horn installed in about an hour! All wires were soldered! The horns are from a Porsche boxster and there is 1 hi horn and 1 low horn! I like it much better now! :D

I will get a video tomorrow! I took one earlier with the car in the garage but it was not clear at all so I will have to pull the car in the driveway and try again!

Just did similar mod to my 2009 fit base. I got a pair of hi-low horns from Harbor Freight and just spliced into existing horn. With the meep and hi-low it is very loud and noticeable.

I just bought a '10 Honda Accord horn and installed on my'10 Fit Sport. It literally took 15 minutes, thanks to the DIY thread on the '09 Fit. It's WAAAAY Louder than the Fit's horn.

my 2011 fit S is louder than my 2009 fit S. not sure if they upgraded my speakers and was going to do this mod but ended up swapping my entire car might be a better choice hahaha.

love the prominent highs on those horns... good job OP!

I stil find the single accord horn weak... better than meep but still weak for me.

Just did this MOD today with some guidance from ej96hatch, and I could not be happier. I got the set of porsche horns from fleabay for $40 shipped which seemed fair. The hardest part of the whole project is making the wire connections to the small hair like wires of the porsche horns. EJ96 said he was able to solder the wires on, but I wasn't patient enough for that, and my skills (and eyes) would never allow me to get it good enough for my picky self. I don't know what the accord horn sounds like that others have done, but if it's at all like my 04 accord horn, it's still lacking.

They sound just as great as his sound clip and really turn heads and get you noticed. Total cost of everything was about $45 and ninety minutes of time. If you have questions, fell free to PM me and I will help you out if I can.

Good job, glad I could help!

wanted to point out that if you have wires that came with aftermarket speakers, the narrower spade connector will fit right into the female horn harness connector. then, just e-tape the wire and connector to prevent water entry. :)

thanks again for the picts. i wired up my G35C's stock horn onto my '12 today. :p
and i left the lock arm (beep) horn in tact on the driver side.
