2008 Fit Paint Chipping/Peeling
 

Hello,

I've reviewed many threads re this topic, and my apologies for bringing it up again. I’m currently experiencing this with my 2008 Honda Fit. From my research online, it appears I’m not the only one having paint chipping and peeling issues. I'm looking for anyone who may have challenged Honda. I found that a class action lawsuit was filed in 2003-2007 for Accords and Civics Honda Defective Paint Class Action Lawsuit and I'm wondering if there may be one under way for Fits. Does anyone have any examples to show precedence or ideas on how to get a satisfactory resolution? Helpful responses only would be much appreciated. I've already contacted American Honda and they told me the same as the plaintiff in the lawsuit: “Honda denied her request because it was beyond the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. ” My car is just barely over the 36,000 mile mark and I'm pretty sure I can find proof that the damage happened before then anyway.

On a side note: I'm new to this site so please forgive me if I've not followed proper posting etiquette.

Hi knaydee, is that only related to 1st generation Fit or 2nd generation is included?

Hi Fit2009BaseAT, I'll be honest and say I don't really know the difference between 1st and 2nd generation. Since mine has a tilting steering wheel, my guess is I have a 2nd generation
