Clutch Transmission Issue

I need some help diagnosing a clutch/transmission issue. I've been searching around but am having a hard time finding this same scenario.

I have a 2010 Fit Sport with 102,000 miles and a manual transmission.

I was driving home from work and accelerating from a stop light. After shifting into 2nd or 3rd gear (honestly don't remember) I felt a clunk and then the clutch pedal felt a little stiff so I pulled off of the road into a parking lot to investigate.

The clutch pedal moves up and down although it does feel a little bit stiffer than usual. The shifter is in the neutral position and will not go into any gear with the clutch pedal depressed.

I was able to put the shifter into the reverse position with the engine off and then when I started the engine, the car lurched backwards. The shifter was then stuck in reverse position but after playing with the shifter for a while, with the engine off, I was able to get it back in neutral.

The clutch fluid seems to be at a normal level.

Probably the clutch release bearing.

^that would be my guess.

did you verify that the cables move on the transmission side?
also verify that when you depress the clutch, that the slave cylinder does its thing...

if it does, then your issue lies inside the bell housing.

The cables move as does the slave cylinder. I took off the inspection plate under the transmission last night and nothing obvious.
