My 32GB USB cannot be read by stock navigation unit.

Any ideas? My 16GB USB thumb works fine and fast even with 2 MS Fight Simulator folders are on that one.

When I plug in the new one (has a folder w/ a copy of MS Windows Basic on it.

I want to be clear that just like my 1st card, the 32 gig has a separate folder named MUSIC USB. The navi says the drive is incompatible. It's brand new. My good friend out in SFO had the copy of Windows 7 that would run smooth on 2 laptops from 04' (yes 9yrs is very old... lol) that im donating to 2 under privileged highschoolers that are going places with the classes they've chosen (college prep) for them to be competitive. They cant do that 100% without some technology to let them do research around the world from the comfort of their home and family. I'm not an I/T guy. these kids are my flight student. Damn did i do a HUGE segway. My apologies for that.

Im wondering if because the win 7 folder is first its telling me the folder isnt compatible? I may have just answered my own question. I'll still reply on what happened. if i skip the folder or just move the folder to the top.

I had the same problem. Our car can only read certain formats. I couldn't get a drive to read anything but fat32. I also had a problem with a partitioned drive. I found it worked every time when i only had fat 32 format and files the car would read like mp3. I have used both 2.0 and 3.0 usb thumb drives. Hope this helps or you answered your own question. There is a few other threads on this with more info (where i found my answers).
I find when trying to find the solution to a problem there is no such thing as too descriptive.

Hondas like FAT32 formatting. Not NTFS.

You were dead on bro. It wasnt in FAT32. I'll reformat and get back to you but my moms was FAT32 already but played in my navi not hers. I reformatted hers and added the folders back in her USB thumb. When i see her i'll reinsert bit in.

Hey guys, i have something else I'm having trouble with. So I have an a 16 gigabyte thumb drive and I wanted to put in my moms car. She has a 2013 Civic EX-L with Navi. It is the same navigation as in our car but she has reverse camera and the satellite radio. When I put the same thumb drive that works in my car in hers it doesn't read, it says unsupported. I really stumped. My mom really wants when she drives to and from Wilmington and Charlotte (190mi). If formatted 3x, the drive is set FAT32. I don't think any of the music was copywriten but I did copy a few to add music to her list. Is there a a place where iIcan see the files where it would show copywriten? Thank you.

Just for info, you can also use larger SSD drives. I use a 128 GB, usb SSD hard drive in mine or even something like the WD Passport Ultra if you want a cheaper method than large USB thumb sticks that is. Most all decks usually read Fat32. But to read larger than 32 GB's, I highly recommend you use this particular tool to format with because it has support for larger sized drives
