http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4018/...0e9712ce_z.jpg how come you went with 2 diff tire sizes? are 195's stretched on those 7.5s?? |

I think you meant to say GE8, unless u have another fit...
how come you went with 2 diff tire sizes? are 195's stretched on those 7.5s?? As for the two tire sizes, it's a bit of a long story. Basically I was getting some rub when I had them a Mazda 323 that was stupid low. The Falkens were on and I had some mismatched no-name tires on the back. So I thought if 205's clear with a bit of stretch, the 195's should be better! Nope. Trust me, the yoko s-drives have NO STRETCH compared to Falken ZE 512's. 512's= little bit of stretch S-drives= no stretch So here's what came next: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4032/...aac83f74_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4063/...4e9daf5d_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4145/...1cbdd79e_z.jpg Stay tuned for more... |
Looks great, I can not wait to see your new wheels!
|
Then I get my wheels on (17x8 et38f, 17x8 et 35r Axis Sport Apex) and new tires (205/40r-17 Falken Ziex ZE512)
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2437/...d354280b_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4103/...79994d5c_z.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2730/...517d9a38_z.jpg Note the tall-ish rear ride height. That gets fixed soon! |
I liked it with the Falken Hanabis best. And the Cooper rims too.
I don't think I could clear 17s, but you're giving me the itch to try :-) Keep it up, looking like a clean GE... |
thats a nice sexy lip on those rear ones...are these custom made? how much did they run?
Im curious, was it your choice to run slightly stretched tires or did u not have a choice because of rubbing? I recently put spacers on my rears and im finding that with my offset and a full car of people, this was a bad idea lmao. i rub bad on small turns and tiny bumps with 4 people in the car. i might have to just remove the spacers and deal that my rears arent at the fenders.... |

I ran the tires stretched because I like the stretched look, Falken approves the 205/40-17 on a 17x8 so it's not like they are stretched a dangerous amount or anything, and I wanted to be sure they wouldn't rub since going from a 6" wide et55 wheel to an 8" ET 38 is such a huge jump! These are actually for sale now, I'm looking to go wider on my next set! More pics: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4130/...7fce8140_z.jpg This one shows how high the rear still was: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4111/...041424a9_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4145/...374994ac_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4086/...c328c274_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4131/...9b2c8f08_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4128/...3c06651b_z.jpg |
