BlueBeard's '09 SSM Fit Sport

New member here...thought I would post up a little intro thread of sorts.

I picked up my used 09 Fit Sport w/ Nav last September as my daily commuter replacing an 06 Infiniti FX35. Some of my friends thought it was a bit of a downgrade but, after owning the Fit for 5 months or so now, I have no regrets at all. I doubled my gas mileage, have more head & leg room and lost barely any cargo space.

I didn't really have any plans to mod this thing, maybe just a few comfort tweaks like tint and the center armrest but, well...you know how that usually goes. I've been lurking here for the last few months getting ideas and have finally started pulling the trigger on a few things.

Anyway...thanks for all the info and ideas. This board has been very helpful so far and I hope I can contribute some as well. Here are a few pics and a mod list. I just got in the wheels, tires, and springs this week and will be dropping the RPF1's off at the powder coaters sometime next week. They look sexy in silver but silver on silver is just too plain for me

More pics/mods to come...

OEM Mods:
Body Side Molding
Door Edge Film
Door Sill Trim
Door Visors
Rear Bumper Applique
Sport Grill
All-Season Floor Mats & Cargo Tray
Center Armrest
Sport Pedals

Aftermarket:
3M Tint - 35% front 20% rear
Blox Racing weighted shift knob
Broadway Mirror - 270mm Convex Blue
Enkei Racing RPF1 - 17x7 +43
205/45/17 Hankook Ventus V12
Swift Sport Mach Springs
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust
K&N Intake
Axis Styling LED Tails

Next up:
carbon fiber goodies
short shifter or H-fit kit

Both of our B-Segments:

I put one on the scale just for the hell of it...not bad at all for a 17. I'll probably weigh it again after the powdercoating as well.

Hey, I have an idea... if you hate looking at all of the "cheap-@$$3d" mods and wheels on the forum, why don't you either contribute to everyone's $500.00 per wheel wish list so you don't have to look at them, or STFU and stop looking at them altogether?

Sounds like a plan to me, man!

The last time I had the displeasure of reading posts from someone who posts like you, the forum (another forum) found out the guy had a piece of crap ride with rusting steelies and was living on welfare!

Like my granddad used to say, "If you can't say something good, then try not to say anything at all... keep it to yourself!" I don't know... maybe your negative commentary is only an attempt at covering up your p3n!s envy!

Any questions?

What color are you powdercoating the wheels?

I can't wait to see pictures of it lowered with the new wheels!

I'm going to have them done in a 2-stage candy blue powder coat just like the Volks below and i'll definitely post up some more pics when they are mounted.

Finally...

Well...between my schedule @ work and my 9month old @ home it took me a while to get 'em in for media blasting and powder coating but I finally picked up my new & improved RPF1's today!

I am extremely happy w/ the results and hope to get them mounted this weekend. They came w/ chrome lugs but I decided to go w/ something in neo chrome instead. The locks came in today and I'm guessing the lugs will arrive tomorrow or Friday.

Last week my HKS exhaust arrived from Evasive so I was able to get both the springs and exhaust installed already. More pics to come...

It was $75 per wheel for the 2 stage candy colors. I could've gone w/ a flat blue at $45/wheel but I think the candy just looked much nicer in person. The color is very deep and changes quite a bit depending on where you stand and the lighting.

Yeah, not bad at all although I did have to get these media blasted first since they come painted which ran me another $35/wheel. Apparently they can powdercoat over existing powdercoat or chrome but paint just doesn't hold up as well during the baking process and will bubble up under the powdercoat.

Still...$110/wheel is not bad in my book. It put my total cost pretty much even w/ the Work 11r's which was my second choice. If I had spent that much on the wheels initially I don't think I would've dropped the extra cash on the powdercoat

Thanks for the compliments and believe me...I'm anxious to see 'em mounted as well. Here is another shot to show what 2 layers of powder coat does to a rim weighing 14.6 lbs. ...still not bad for a 17x7 wheel

RPF1's finally mounted!

She's a little dirty but here are some quick garage & driveway shots. I might push the rears out a little more w/ a 5mm spacer but other than that...I think it looks pretty sick!
