Trip to Death Valley on TW GE8 FIT

Drove from LA - used AC a lot, averaged 41 mpg. Awesome park.

By the way, I was surprised to find AC adequate. On second click with air directing to feet and face, even in 100 F heat.

FYI: running your AC is running your AC, regardless of the fan speed. if you're going to use it, run it full blast then shut it off

GGPJON, I am not sure. What/who is "the undertaker"?

I think the compressor cycles on and off being turned on by the pressure valve. The higher the fan speed, the faster the evaporator will heat up, lowering the pressure, and in turn turning the compressor on. That's how I understand the ac system on the fit.

It was hot... the ground heats up to 130 I've heard. But it was tolerable, especially with the wind. BTW, saw a lot of fits. They must be favored by the outdoor folks.

I wish we had roads like that. Ours are Decent, but not like that.

Death Valley I'm sure makes you happy you have a TW fit and not a black one.

Yeah, the white one made it much easier to handle the heat. Most cars in death valley and in surrounding towns are light color as folks know how much of a difference that makes in the desert.
