Dr. Unsped's '12 Fit Sport - Vortex Blue Pearl

Some of you might remember my posts on converting a 2010 TW Base to a Sport ... I'm fairly obsessive about certain things and even after all of the work I put into it It still bugged me that is was a Base. Plus without VSA, Cruise etc... I was looking into getting something else.

One benefit of Fit's being scarce since the tsunami is that trade-in values are great!

... So I traded in my 2010 Fit Base for a new 2012 Fit Sport, I got the same price for my trade-in that I paid for it so kinda a no brainer for me.

I either wanted Polished Metal or Vortex Blue and Vortex Blue was the easiest to get ahold of. Definitely different having a dark car (I have only had white cars) but I ordered some Ivory Clazzios to brighten the interior up.

I'm really liking the minor interior changes, at least makes it look a little higher quality inside. And the new wheels fill out the wheel well better in my opinion. I'm mixed on the front end, it looks stubbier which I like better but the fog area isn't as elegant.

At the moment it has Weathertec front and rear, rear tray, element locking cap, locking lugs.

Ivory Clazzios are on their way, going to see if I can get the doors covered in Ivory also. Also have a Jazz emblem with red dot I am going to put on for fun. Going to get a cargo cover I think and will see if that can be covered in Ivory also.

Overall I want to leave it alone and drive it until it rusts apart many years down the road

Yes the 12's have black housing headlights now and they look really clean. I just picked up a 12 sport in TW and the headlights really look good on the front end.

Agreed. But how do y'all keep it nice looking? Mine shows ever stupid water or salt spot.

Guess it's not as bad as black to keep clean.

Dr. Unsped, could you chime into my thread regarding 09-11 and 12+ sound differences?

We're twins. I also have a '12 Vortex Blue Fit up in Norcal. I'm a fan of tasteful additions like the ones you did (locks, tray, etc). I'll post pics up when they're available but had to subscribe to this thread because you ordered Ivory Clazzios and that is exactly the color scheme I want. Ivory Clazzios in a Vortex Blue Fit. I'll be on the lookout and hope you post pics of the Clazzios soon.

Nice upgrade... I agree that the small interior changes make the cabin better. How is that new car smell treating you?

Looks great! I'm impressed with the fit. Did it take a lot of wrestling? Can you take a pic through the back hatch?

honestly they were a lot easier to put on than I was expecting. i had it in my mind that they would be really thin and very tight. what i found was that they were just snug, but the rigidity and thickness of the foam/vinyl makes them look tight. they even come with plastic sheets to put over your seats to help them slide on, but i didn't not need to use them ... i am even tempted to say that they wen't on very easily. it is also a little too early to tell, but the foam seems to have evened out the lumbar a little bit and seats appear to be more comfortable. i have had them installed for a week now and the smell is just about gone.

@clemsonteg - i bought mine from bean garage, they charge $250 shipped for the full set.
