Definitely a long time and 180 turn from bagged vip to wannabe track car haha, was less maintenance and economical while still looking good.

Brings back some good memories! I’d like to say yes— if I do keep it for the long run I want to eventually make the K-swap dream a reality. I see a looot more Fits swapped this time around. But I’ve gotten married and had a kid with another on the way(doesn’t help that I’ve gotten into off roading and overlanding with the truck) so it might be a slower burn than when I started hahah.
Swapped out the strut mounts this morning! You can see in the photos how much wear and tear took place in a span of about 6 years. The center metal on the top mount was concave and the bottom mount had cracks and worn out rubber. Bear in mind I’m on coilovers so I’m sure it’s not typical for stock suspension. Drives like a dream again with no suspension knocking!
Had to pop off the bumper because my usual alignment shop was closed and I had to go to another local shop that wasn’t lowered car friendly, haha. Removed it pretty quick like I used to back in the day.
Revived my fog lights with some led bulbs; will swap out the headlights hi/lows for a warmer 5500K or at least 6000K— the blue-ish hue is not appealing to me anymore.
Stopped by a wreck yard today not too far from me. They had an SSM Sport with a passenger side skirt still in tact! Some of the plastic tabs were half broken but all still there so I’ll likely put some epoxy or jb weld and call it a day. It’s back to normal body-wise!
Swapped out the head unit for a new one with Apple CarPlay, also installed a reverse camera while I was at it. Some creature comforts that I'm acquainted with because of me and my wife's newer cars.
Also spent Saturday morning inspecting the suspension and trying to find out where the noises are coming from. Turned out to be a loose bolt in the rear and the front I can't seem to pinpoint yet. I have adjustable sway bar end links to reposition the sway bar closer to factory geometry and then we'll go from there. The only other places I can think about would be the tie rods or worst case the axles which I was hoping to not have to do until I hopefully do a k-swap down the line and just upgrade them I also did a quick headlight polish as well! Here's some better photos I got to take after a quick wash!
Finally got to swapping out my sway bar end links and we’re back to 100% quiet suspension again.
I never had that issue with my first round of coilovers but maybe because I was a good inch lower and the sway bar was probably riding the control arms and/or the end links weren’t worn and torn back then. A lot of room all around the sway bar again, feels great!
Waiting on the hasport mounts! That’s really the last piece— few other small items that I’ll likely try to snag in the next week or so. The eta on the mounts is supposed to be in between Aug19-Sep5 but heard it could take longer.
Picked up a motor with low compression for cheap for some donor parts! Might keep the motor and maybe rebuild it down the line for my pop’s ‘06 Civic, who knows! Haha
Got an update from Hasport, they’re backed up on orders because of the urethane— they said they’ll have raw material September so we’re probably looking at a September/October swap!
Bucket seat I got from a fellow Fit buddy in with Buddy Club seat rail; can always upgrade the seat later but feels more supportive than the stock seat!
Weighed the stock driver's seat and clocked it in at 43.9 lbs for anyone that was interested.
My bucket seat with rails is roughly 33lbs(I didn't weigh it). Offsets the weight of my 12" sub in the back with no spare tire and lower center of gravity for both to boot.
As clean as I can get it to be without a dry ice blaster and whatever else— degreaser, brass brush, evaporust, shop towels and a lot of elbow grease. It’s good enough for me haha, contemplating a wrinkle red valve cover but not a definite must. We’re just about there!
